Anyone got one of these? My dd 10 would love one but some of them are so expensive like £60-£80 Shock I have found cheaper ones on amazon and Ebay for like £25 but I don’t think they are made as well.

Just wondering if anyone has bought one and if you know which ones are good and which arnt?

I'd check with your local pool if they allow them first. DD wanted one but I checked with the lifeguards and they said they're not allowed for safety reasons.

We bought the cheaper one. It is fine, and as we can only use it on holiday/if we hire out a pool it should last ok hopefully!

There have been reports about the dangers of mermaid tails for swimming, especially for children, who haven't the body core strength to stay afloat in them.

It’s for holiday so I’m hoping it should be fine, if not I might take her to the beach

Taggie - where did you buy yours? Do you mind me asking how much? I was hoping to get one with a matching bikini

Faded - I wouldn’t let dd swim alone with the tail so she should be fine if I’m with her

My dd is 7 and could swim easily in it when she got the hang of it. Beach might be trickier as they have to actually be able to swim under the water, and the waves would make it harder! Think I paid about £20-£25 from an eBay site. Pretty sure they had matching bikinis. Will have a look and see if I can find similar.

Think it might have come from Ireland, I can't find the order now.

Mahina are by far the best imo (was living abroad with a pool until recently).
Safe as essentially a mono fin but look quite mermaidy!
But $$$

My DD would love one of these, but i decided they just look like an accident waiting to happen.
