I don’t know if there’s already a thread but today I saw this...

It wouldn’t be as bad if the verse actually worked, but I actually find this hideous beyond measure. I can think of at least two people I know who would buy these as well!

It’s exploiting grief to make a quick buck. Pretty disgusting.

fruityb · 19/11/2017 20:28

It is horrible isn’t it. I just found it really unpleasant yet I also know who would buy one....

On another note - I give you the husbands gift box!

Husband’s gift box looks like it was made by an Avon lady trying to shift some stock.

[nothing wrong with Avon - filled in my order form last night WinkGrin]

My Dad died earlier this year. My Mum isn't coping very well with this, and last week saw an advert on the internet (I'm thinking it might have been through targeted advertising) advertising a model of an empty chair with Christmas decorations on, so you can still have a small chair for your deceased love one at the Christmas table and to remember them by. She was actually considering buying it, until I reassured her we would remember Dad at Christmas without her having to spend money on the incredibly tasteless chair. It makes me cross because it's basically trying to make money out of people who are grieving and struggling at this time of year.

fruityb · 19/11/2017 20:50

I can’t imagine anything more crass. When my mum died we raised a glass on the day but at no point would any of this junk made it through the door. I dislike it so much.

I agree KitKat, sorry for your loss.

I think the sellers are so crass and wrapped up in how much money they can make, they forget who would actually buy their stock.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 19/11/2017 20:55

kitkat are you in Dundee? I have a fb aquatintence who makes those chairs among other tat. She has literally zero empathy or social skills and would absolutely only be thinking about the money. I had to unfriend her a few months ago when she was taking selfies at a family members funeral Shock

That husband gift box is hilarious though, dp would be Confused if I presented that

KitKat1985 · 19/11/2017 21:21

Thank you SeamusMacDugh.

EnglishGirl no I'm on the other side of the country. Obviously these tacky chairs must be a national thing then. Hmm

Sparrowlegs248 · 19/11/2017 21:25

This. I don't mind the idea as such.. ......

Those mournful remembrance candles - if the seller just put an ad in the Sunday Post, they'd make a fortune'
