I did post this in a different section but didn't get any responses, hope it's okay to re-post here.

I'm thinking of buying a GoPro Hero Session as a gift, but I'm getting really confused about all the accessories needed, can anyone help?

Is there anything I definitely need to be able to use it?

I've seen loads of kits for around £30 on Amazon with 50 or so different accessories but don't know if I'm better spending more money on better quality ones.

It'll be used mainly on a car and clipped to a bike.
Probably also for hikes and some watersports.

Thank you for the help!

Definitely buy better quality fittings. Dh bought cheap ones off amazon at first and did a bit of a hard jump on a bmx track and the fitting cracked and the GoPro fell off.

Helmet mounts are great if you want to use it on a bike and a chest mount is useful for water sports. The head mount is pretty uncomfortable and I’m not sure how well it would stay on when being pulled in the water. You also need a sucker type mount to attach it to anything you don’t want to stick a permenant mount to.

Okay so it seems it's definitely worth it to pay more for the accessories.

I have been looking at other action cameras too, it seems like while the higher end GoPros are excellent, the Hero Session (which is the only one I can afford!) is comparable to other cheaper action cameras so I'm not sure if I'm just paying for the brand name IYSWIM.

I never thought it could be so confusing!!
