My 5yo boy likes Minecraft, so I'll get him a few more figure things and maybe a t shirt? He also likes playing with the transformer toys.
New earphones.
Don't know what else, but will leave Brightminds catalogue lying around, it's always good.

My soon to be 5yo also has his birthday list before Christmas. For Christmas he’s getting a 2ds XL with a couple of games. He loves playing games.
For his birthday he’s getting a few new bits for his train track and a Mellissa and Doug magnetic calendar thing because he loves I know what date it is and what the weather is like.

A big Lego set.

Stocking has some cars, a book, maybe some craft bits.

He is youngest of 3 though so we already have a lot of stuff!

I was pondering the playmobil castle. I'm sure there'll be Lego sets too! He's asked for a marble run 🙈.

DS also has a mid Dec birthday and so will turn 5 just before Christmas. He's asked for playmobil dragons, a Thomas stupidly massive master station, and a swim to me puppy.

I'll also buy some bits and bobs to surprise him as he likes everything and anything toy-wise.

Lego. Masses of the bloody stuff. It’s his birthday a week before, for which he is getting...Lego.

He’s obsessed.

Stuff to complete his police man dressing up, apparently he needs tape, new handcuffs and a badge so he can arrest everyone on our street. He'll also get a few colour changing hotwheels, things he needs like shoes and crayola bits for school and some Slinky Malinky books that he loves. My mum is getting him a kindle fire tablet. For his birthday just past he got a digger and the Paw Patrol figures.

DS also turns 5 just before Christmas. For his bday he's getting a skateboard, skaletrix cars (and his dad's old track, currently in the loft) and a paw patrol soft toy.

For Christmas we aren't too sure yet other than a globe, and another paw patrol soft toy.

Really like the magnetic calendar that's a great idea Mol will definitely be stealing that one.

Mine wants a skateboard.

Does anyone else’s 5yo have one, I’m thinking he’s too young but I could be being precious.

He’s having Lego and magnetic connection thingies.

My DGS had his 5th birthday recently. He got Lego, Playmobil and Hot Wheels . The Lego and Hot Wheels got the most play .
I was going to get a Hot Wheels set for him for Christmas, someone beat me to it so back to the drawing board .
He is still into rescue bots, so will probably get one of those ....

My DS is 5 just after xmas. I've finished for him now and he's got:
-Nintendo switch + a game/case

  • a little wooden tool box
  • buckaroo

-child's gardening tools
-a pickachu teddy that moves when squeezed
-couple of hot wheels sets
-skittles
-books
-dvds
-some chocolately bits
-some craft stuff

The Nintendo switch is not something I would normal buy but I got it in a good deal, it will (hopefully!!) be played with a lot and I know he'll love it. He won't be getting any other kind of console until he's a teenager

My ds is also 5 just before Christmas. He has asked mostly for board games.

We are getting him monopoly empire (played at his cousins and it became his favourite thing) and labyrinth for his birthday.

For Christmas he asked for mr frosty and I know it'll probably be crap, but I got it for him. I also got some Spider-Man lego. I probably would have got more lego but my mil just brought us DHs massive collection from when he was a kid.

Other things for stocking are those Pokemon ball things, a fingerling and books.

From other family members he has asked for mousetrap, the surprise chocolate egg maker and a kiddizoom camera. And a hatchimal, but I'm not getting that. They look pointless.

My boy has just turned 5 - some ideas and things he's enjoyed recently:

  • walkie talkies (proper ones, not kids ones)
  • Games - kerplunk, crocodile dentist, mouse trap
  • Skateboard (cheap 9.99 one)
  • Magic set (wooden Melissa and Doug one is brilliant!)
  • Builder dress up stuff
  • Magnetic tiles
  • Kinetic sand
  • Transformers (one step versions)
  • Spy kit (invisible ink pen and rear view glasses)
  • Wipe clean letters / numbers book
  • Drawing and craft things.

@MiniMileyMoo please could you post a link for the magic set. I bought one for DS but it's too old for him I think, so I've hidden it away for some point in the future. Thank you

Ode - it’s this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Melissa-Doug-Deluxe-Solid-Wood-Classic/dp/B0036MDQP0/ref=bdlpoppttlB0036MDQP0

They do a smaller set too I think.
Some of the tricks are a bit advanced for him, but there are lots he can do. There are some good YouTube videos demonstrating them!
