45! ( from midnight. Three glasses of wine and a tub of pringles means I’m falling asleep!!)

This thread we are all pretty normal! I was listening to carols earlier, it was wonderful :)

I'm up with earache and doing a bit of crochet and can't decide what episode of Poirot I should download and watch. I fancy watching Murder on the Orient Express to contrast with the film version I watched at the cinema last night (well acted but lighthearted) BUT I could also watch Hercule Poirot's Christmas. Decisions, decisions. 🎄

Great title, Sprouts!

Loved your embossing, Fridge!

Woolly, I hope your ears are better soon; earache is grim. Which Poirot did you go for?

I went for Orient Express and slept through most of it Blush

Hello all!
Thread 5! I can hardly believe it!

Wow ! Thread 5!

I'm hoping to catch up over the weekend. Far too busy a week . But I managed 20 minutes in a shopping centre yesterday getting much, so grabbed the extra cards I need. (And got a pair of very light coloured but otherwise perfect hiking trousers for me at 70% off!).

This morning darted with a meeting in school (which was more positive than we feared!), another meeting as soon as I get to work on the bus, and an all afternoon meeting of our whole division. So I am looking forward to sleep tonight!

Wilf has been given his part in the nativity, Innkeeper 17 Xmas Grin I will be purchasing his outfit from Sainsbury when they have 25% off in a couple of weeks, cheaper than making it. Making me feel very festive!

HairsprayBabe · 10/11/2017 09:39

Inn Keeper is a great part! Well done Wilf!

My Brother was a roman soldier all throughout primary, except one year where they did some sort of dickensian style thing and he was "an orphan"

BTW I very much want to refer to your children as "Mini Fridge" !

Ha! Love it, MiniFridge 2 (angel Gabriel) is loudly watching Mr Tumble. If he doesn't get to play Gabriel at school I will go bat shit.

My female sprouts have only ever been angels. Blonde and blue eyed type casting. Shame they can’t be at home 🙄😂

Gabriel has long blonde hair and blue eyes. I am cultivating his locks for future nativity performances. It never occurred to me when DH chose his name (I wanted Octavius or Ezra) that he was conceived at Christmas :)

I reckon he is in with a decent chance

TG our school, being multi-denominational, has never had a nativity and never will, so I've never had that angst of "parts" and costumes. DD has never been involved in the one in local church either (they have all the costumes, and any DC involved gets a selection box afterwards too!!) - we tend to go to the church further up the hill as DH's Aunt would usually be there too.

Beautiful sunny day here, but bitter cold wind reminding us that winter is here! I may get 5 minutes on the shopping street after Dr visit, while chemist fills the script I expect to get. (Chest infection - oh joy!).

Actually, I wonder is it too early yet to ask OYBBK or GlolriaSmud about Christmas forecasts (is either a Christmas nut or not?). I know it probably really is, but they may have some ideas from models about general weather around then - whether lots of rain or actually dry and crisp (even if not snowy).

FridgeCut · 10/11/2017 11:23

Report back if you hear anything, I'll take dry and cold :)

And get well soon, my chest has been bad for a month now, so I know how miserable it is. Keep warm and take to bed when you can!

I work for the govt. agency most associated with flooding storms and bad weather, I will take a look at the long term forecast but we reckon that anything more than a week or two is very very difficult to predict!

Report
HairsprayBabe · 10/11/2017 11:33

I currently only have a forecast for upto the 8th of Dec but will keep you posted

24 Nov 2017 to 8 Dec 2017:
There is an increasing signal that high pressure will become more dominant throughout this period. This will bring a greater chance of colder and drier conditions, but also the risk of overnight frost and fog. There will still be spells of rain and showers as frontal systems move across the UK, but these will be interspersed with drier, colder and brighter days. There is also an increased risk of snow at times, more especially in the north. Temperatures look like being below normal generally, with an increased chance of frost through the period.

Gosh I think I missed a thread and a half. Started wrapping yesterday, though still have all the tricky presents to buy.

I am regretting downgrading our virgin package earlier this year as we no longer get Christmas 24/7 or whatever it was called. I miss the abundance of trashy made for tv Christmas films.

HairsprayBabe · 10/11/2017 11:43

If you have true movies (available on free view) they are only showing Christmas films atm!

I have an irritable cough at the mo' (not a proper cough , just a gipey throat ) but I'm bravely soldiering on here Xmas Grin

Went into town , bought DD Christmas fleece (grey snowflake)
Jumper for DS
Underwear for DS
Some gift bags
Chocolate marzipan (for me)

Did DDs Beauty Advent (I looked at all the High St/Online ones but she's fussy with products . 80% wouldn't get used. So I bought some mini sizes, gifts sets to split and done my own. )

I've now got DD and DS bathobes and PJs for their Dec 1st Hamper.
Need a Man Smelly for DS (DD has a Lush bathbomb)

Ticking off lists is inspiring.
