I think you can join the Scottish national trust, which is cheaper, then use it across the UK?

You will struggle to find any offers on NT membership. They don't do discounts anymore, unless it is through an established corporate membership scheme at certain work places.

If you joined the Scottish NT it would be cheaper but you wouldn't actually be supporting the properties in England, N.Ireland and Wales that you would visit. The NTS and NT are two separate charities and do not share fundraising or membership fees. It is a reciprocal membership arrangement and it could change in the future.

If you want to support the properties you are visiting the best thing to do is join the right National Trust membership for that region.

Is it for you or as a gift? It is good idea to do on site when you next go as it will last 12 months from date of purchase. Sometimes they add an extra 3 months, so it is 15 months membership.

They used to do 3 months free but they haven't run that offer in over a year.
They do now offer the option to pay monthly.

They've done pay monthly for a while now, but you had to ring them to set it up (I did it 3 years' ago when we first joined).

To be honest, I think it's a bargain even at full price, especially when you consider that it gets you free parking in loads of places too.

No Word I agree it's worth it, I've used our membership 3 times this half term and one was a visit to Cragside which costs around £40 for a family ticket.

If you join Scottish NT I don't think you get a parking pass which is a big plus.
