What are you getting your DC as main presents this year? Or what are they asking for?

Completely stuck for my 3,4,8 and 10 year olds and so are they!

DS is 4.5 and is asking for Lego and transformers. Thinking about getting him a proper bike or new scooter as his big present

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/10/2017 18:11

I was going to say scooters too.

What is your budget? A Nintendo Switch to share? A trampoline to share?

Some camping stuff between the two older ones and some play camp stuff for the younger two?

A two seater go-kart?

GherkinSnatch · 22/10/2017 18:53

I might be seen as a bit boring here but if they haven't asked for a "main" present I wouldn't get one for the sake of it. DS asked for a bike last year, which he got, but the most expensive thing he's asked for this year (at almost 5, P1/YR) is a £25 Playmobil car.

He could probably go up a bike size but we'll probably just replace that when he needs it rather than have him get one that he hasn't asked for and might just take for granted.

Ds(15) wants a MacBook. Fat chance of us affording that!

tempstamos · 22/10/2017 19:04

@peachy94

I dont know if i could cope with anymore lego in the house! And we did new bikes and scooters for their birthdays this year.

@WaxOnFeckOff

Already have scooters and trampoline. I will have a look at the nintendo switch and go-kart though, thanks! I dont neccesarily have that much of a budget, If its something they would like and enjoy.

@GherkinSnatch

Yeah I do get that, its just that is what I have always done with my two older ones. (Tbh I have made that mistake, they are all expecting a 'main present' and I think would be disapointed if they didnt get one)

@dementedma

My 14 year old DS is getting a laptop of some sorts, asking for a macbook too!

What about a whole family gift like Merlin passes.

Stompythedinosaur · 22/10/2017 20:00

We're getting our dds y scooters for their main present.

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/10/2017 20:08

Macbook no use if they want it for gaming, just saying...

dementedma · 22/10/2017 20:13

He wants it for music and video editing. He is really into sound technology. Is a Mac the right thing for this

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/10/2017 20:17

I don't know to be honest demented - all I know is gaming. He maybe has specific apps that he is looking to co-ordinate with an ipod?

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/10/2017 20:19

I'd be rubbish as a spy, but seem to remember that you might live near me demented? If so, the computer shop in the Craigs sometimes has refurbished macs - so does apple directly but few and far between.

soontobemrsmckeown · 22/10/2017 20:34

My nearly 6 year old dd has asked a hatchimal and lol suprise dolls.

tempstamos · 22/10/2017 21:03

@RippleEffects

Thats a good idea, but mine all like completely different things and there is quite a wide age range so I'm not sure there would be something they all like.

@Stompythedinosaur

We already used that one for birthdays this year

@dementedma

They use macbooks in my sons school for music lesson (where i think they are like recording editing songs etc) So I think they might be good for that.

@soontobemrsmckeown

Thanks,I'll try suggesting Hatchimals to mine.

For DS (5) we've got the Playmobil Space Rocket. He hasn't asked for it but pretty sure he'll enjoy it. He's only asked for 2 things and they are more stocking fillers so we thought the rocket might be nice. Grandparents are getting him the add on Space shuttle.
DD (will be 9 months) isn't getting a 'main' present - I'm just wrapping up a couple of DS old baby toys. It's more so DS can help her open her presents (something that he's already announced he'll be doing!!). I have bought her a duck for the bath and a set of the Hide 'n Squeak eggs though.

Equimum · 22/10/2017 23:11

No real main presents in our house this year. Both boys will have a 'mainish' present that costs under £40, then 3-4 cheaper/ smaller bits.

Haudyerwheesht · 23/10/2017 00:24

We don't necessarily do a main present monetarily speaking - it's more just something they really want.

10yo Ds has asked for a phone or a gamin chair . He's also getting football training equipment , a football kit, Lego worlds game, mine craft full story game, a young drivers experience and Star Wars battlefront II.

Dd is 7 and has asked for a LOL big surprise and is also getting a cry baby, Smiggle bag and bottle etc, barbie sets and craft equipment

fishchipspeasandgravy · 23/10/2017 07:58

DS (4) has asked for the Thomas Super Station which is pretty good as it fits all the different types of trains he has.

DD (2) hasn’t asked but is getting a kindle fire so she can stop stealing her brother’s

Shakey15000 · 23/10/2017 09:24

@Haudy that’s a great idea ref the young drivers experience! I’d never heard of it and my ten year old will LOVE it so thanks very much!

Haudyerwheesht · 23/10/2017 09:52

@shakey15000 if you get it from buyagift there's a referral thread in the Christmas section here and you can use someone's referral link to get you (and them) £15 off so only costs £10!

please use my referral link??
