What’s been your favourite Christmas advert?

I have loved the Sainsbury’s adverts over the last few years , for me, they have really got it ‘right’ and made me feel super Christmassy!

The Chanel one with Nicole Kidman is my fav and the John Lewis ones.

I hated, loathed and detested last years Sainsbury's one though. To top it off it had cordon singing on it. Ugh.

My all time favourite is the John Lewis snowman ad from a few years ago. I also really liked last year's Buster the Boxer one.

Got to be the little boy who can't wait to give his parents a present on Christmas morning - John Lewis? <eyes fill>

When so they all come out?

*do

I loved the snowman one for JL - that was lovely. They do really well with the music at JL.

Oh I loved last years Sainsbury’s one, can’t think of a Sainsbury’s one I haven’t loved to be honest!

The m&s one with Mrs Claus was very good, but also do love the ‘magic and sparkle’ m&s ones!

I’m a sucker for a good Christmas ad!

John lewis little boy giving presents
Sainsbury's mog

I liked last year John lewis bit not the bear and hate nor the man in the moon

BusterTheBulldog Thu 12-Oct-17 11:23:11

Adore the bear and hare! I prefer the animal ones to human I think

AnyFarrahFowler Thu 12-Oct-17 11:23:37

I can't wait til they start being shown!
I like the ones that make me teary, JL ones for example, but I must admit I prefer the more upbeat ones.

The Lidl one where the family all work at doing up the old house for the Grandad.
The ESB one with the son returning home for Christmas.
Guinness 'even at the home of the black stuff, we're dreaming of a white one'.

I have something in my eye now....

Christmas in a day by sainsburys

John Lewis boy and present. And a snowman. Asda lights

TwinkleTwinkleLittleEtoile Thu 12-Oct-17 11:59:26

Christmas in a day (Sainsburys) was one I really remember. There's a 45 minute version on youtube. Makes me feel all Christmassy!

BiddyPop Thu 12-Oct-17 17:24:54

There is a radio ad in Ireland for Barry's Tea that always makes me feel Christmassy - about buying a train set.

The Boots one (I think) about the family gathering for the Nurse who worked all (Christmas Eve? Christmas Night?) night and surprising her with a family Christmas was lovely.

I really liked the Sainsbury's "No Man's Land" one, but I like most of theirs. Mrs Claus always makes me cry (M&S - it's still on YouTube) because the little boy does care so much for his big sister.

70isaLimitNotaTarget Thu 12-Oct-17 17:54:46

John Lewis "Snowman" one by a long shot.
And the M&S "Mrs Claus"

You DO realise I'm going to fritter away hours of my life searching these up on You Tube fwink

willothewisp17 Thu 12-Oct-17 18:00:46

I think it's john lewis, the one with the little boy and the penguin? and the sainsburys no mans land one!

Frege Thu 12-Oct-17 18:04:25

John Lewis boy with present and penguins.

tootsieglitterballs Thu 12-Oct-17 19:42:41

SideOrderofSprouts Thu 12-Oct-17 21:02:12

I have it on DVD as well!

SideOrderofSprouts Thu 12-Oct-17 21:02:36

And who can forget the irn bru snowman

FlowerTink Thu 12-Oct-17 21:50:41

I'm getting tears just thinking about the John Lewis Snowman one. And the boy who can't wait to give his parents the present!

I am ridiculously excited for JL's Christmas ad this year!

tootsieglitterballs Thu 12-Oct-17 22:23:49

I really loved the mog Christmas advert! My DS loves it too - he’s got a mog and the book and loves it!

Also, you know it’s really Christmas when ‘holidays are coming, holidays are coming...’ comes on!

anyoldname76 Thu 12-Oct-17 22:28:40

i love most of the ones already mentioned, didnt really like the man on the moon one though. i quite enjoyed the argos yetis last year but it wasnt really very festive

70isaLimitNotaTarget Thu 12-Oct-17 23:07:08

Oh and the Waitrose Advert with the little robins

One years ago with the people coming home (started with the woman hanging a wreath on her door)

SuffolkBumkin Thu 12-Oct-17 23:11:12

The one with little boy and his penguin, and the boy counting down the days so his parents can open their gift from him.

The dog on the trampoline was silly though.

scrappydappydoo Thu 12-Oct-17 23:18:05

I liked the little boy John Lewis one and the penguin one. Hated the snowman one - reminded me of the weeping angels and didn't like the man on the moon one - too forced. I agree that sainsburys have got the balance right the past few years.
