Wow! Part two!!

8 months to go

VivaJen Wed 26-Apr-17 21:11:42

Is anyone setting any Christmas Goals for this year? I'm working towards a 'cash-only' Christmas. I've never managed that before but so far so good.

Mummysh0rtlegs Wed 26-Apr-17 22:48:40

I have to set a proper budget and start squirreling some bloody money. When I worked properly I used to get a christmas bonus and that paid for it, now I am a freelancer, no chance!

Yay, new thread!
I worked out a plan in January of how much I was going to save each month for Christmas, I'd have about Ā£700.00 by Christmas. I have saved the grand total of 0! fshock fgrin

Yay, new thread...wonder if we will get to 4 this year?! fgrin

I'm still thinking about birthdays, in the main, then I'll consider Christmas. I actually have no clue as yet!

Woohoo!! A brand new shiny thread!! fgrin

And now I have to get back to the day job rather than having any Christmas fun.....I am longing for retirement to do crafting and gardening and stuff just at present, but still have over 20 years to go.....fsad

I also dream of retirement Biddy but I am in my mid-twenties, so I assume I won't retire till I am at least 85 <weeps>

BiddyPop Fri 28-Apr-17 09:02:26

Hairspray I will have had time to knit you a blanket for your retirement armchair by that stage!! grin

That is a much more cheerful note blacksmith

BiddyShall I place my order now then? grin

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend all, we are off to London for a few days to stay with some friends.

MovingtoParadise Sat 29-Apr-17 06:50:30

I moved house a month ago and can't WAIT for Christmas grin

I'm going to craft the shit out of everything. I've got 10 foot ceilings so I'm going to have the largest tree possible. I've only ever had cottage seven foot ceilings before.

And in the January sale I bought everything Cox and Cox had that was Christmassy. All stashed in the worlds biggest Christmas cupboard.

VivaJen Sat 29-Apr-17 07:28:57

MovingtoParadise that sounds awesome! My friend stays in a converted church so they have room for an EPIC tree! You'll need a million lights but it will look sooooo pretty!

MrsDilligaf Sat 29-Apr-17 07:30:33

Happy bank holiday weekend! Anyone got any plans?

We have to go and get M some shoes today as she is toddling about properly now and her first shoes aren't really good enough.

Other than that I may spend the weekend cleaning and tidying!

SideOrderofSprouts Sat 29-Apr-17 18:55:39

I've decided I'm going to knit my kids stockings this year... wish me luck!

NoWordForFluffy Sat 29-Apr-17 20:45:52

Best start now, Sprouts! šŸ˜‚

TheWoollybacksWife Sat 29-Apr-17 20:55:49

My DDs are too old and too set in their ways for me to give them different stockings now. DS wouldn't care shock I'll have to save my crafting for my still to be conceived grandchildren. I really fancy cross stitching them. If I start now would my DDs think I was putting pressure on them? grin

SideOrderofSprouts Sun 30-Apr-17 07:39:43

I'm just finishing a set of socks and knitting another pair then going to start. Shouldn't take too long lol

Hello all! A second thread so early in the year. We are doing well.
It is peak birthday season in the cooking household. I have just had mine then it is the DCs' ( big birthdays this year), followed by A Levels. On the plus side we will emerge from the madness just in time for Rudolph Day in June.

What was that post ^^^ that got deleted?
Must've been a Selling Type Post , we've had plenty of people telling us we're MadderThanABoxofFrogs fgrin

June Rudolph Day is the start of it for me , DD will be 15 fshock and already planning her presents (never mind that my birthday is a couple of weeks beforehand )

DS will be 18 in December so our Festivities will be busy this year (and Ā£Ā£)

I bought my DC new stockings last year (eBay bargin, LED lights) because they're presents are small, few and Ā£Ā£ as teens, so I needed some nice little Stocking Gifts to pad it out .
They certainly weren't too old to accept the new (or they just went along with it for a quiet life fgrin DS is probably counting down the Christmases till he can escape from me and my Christmas Madness)

BiddyPop Sun 30-Apr-17 10:46:05

I spotted a set of battery operated led lights yesterday which are DDs name, so I will go back for those during the week when she's not with me.

We're sitting in a sailing clubhouse waiting for a decision about wind and whether sailing will happen today. DD is very excited as it's her first event, DH is looking around and realising we have a few years with a LOT of hanging around ahead of us (and we both need to come to lift the boat on/off the car). I am starting to think about what crafting projects might be usefully transportable to work on šŸ˜‚
