I'm as bad now as when I was a kid. Just so excited at the thought of waking up and rushing downstairs. Plus my mind is whirring with all the things I need to get done for dinner tomorrow morning.

Phone is obviously not helpful but I'm just so excited!

Me! Same story every year.
Combination of excitement and my mind racing about what I need to do tomorrow. 3dc, 18 for dinner, there's a lot to do and I didn't sleep much last night, can't afford To write off another nights sleep. And yet... Confused

Fell asleep about 9, woke up at ten past midnight to merry Christmas messages and now everyone has buggered off to sleep and I'm wide awake!

I'm in ds's room as he cant sleep. He's 8 and autistic and tbh Christmas is all too much for him. I'm already sensing I'm going to be a massive grump tomorrow purely from tiredness, which is a real shame as I'd give anything to just enjoy the day and not have to worry and plan every last thing and deal with the inevitable meltdowns. I'm feeling rotten too so won't even be able to drink to get through it Hmm

Pleased I'm not alone. DP just woke up and noticing the light from my phone said 'you should really get some sleep' before rolling over and falling straight back into a snorey deep sleep. Bitch Wink

Me. Went to bed at 7pm with a headache. Seriously considering giving the DC a poke making a noise outside their bedroom door so cries of "he's BEEN!" can start...

Me! Mine are uni age so dd decided to be sociable just after midnight (pretty normal here) then when she went to bed I had to finish wrapping. My husband always goes to bed before me on Christmas Eve and ds prob won't get to sleep til 4. Wanted to be in bed by 2 but now I feel like I could just stay up until it's time to put the turkey in!

Well, I have just finished wrapping DS presents !! I know, I know, I left it too late. Though DS won't practically leave me alone and pretty much caught a glimpse of one of his presents, though I quickly ushered him out of the room and hid his present once again.

I'm being kept awake by DD (ASD) she keeps coming to ask if it's Christmas yet, this has been going on all week, I'm going to be very grumpy.

Meeeeee! I can smell the beef roasting and I'm wide awake. I know the dc are going to come bursting in at 6am so I'm going to be knackered all day but I'm so excited to see them open their presents!

I can't get back to sleep. I've been trying since shortly after midnight. But I'm full of cold & ridiculously excited for DD's 1st Christmas (9 months old) also not helped by OH's snoring & DD's babbling/moaning/contented noises in her sleep.

Me. I'm up!
DH is working. I'm 39+6 and have just finished a mental nesting clean.

I'm going to be in the shit when he gets home. Too much activity has been pushing my BP up and I'm supposed to be resting. I only meant to do the washing up because he's been doing everything and I feel awful about it.

No DC to be excited in the morning yet.
Just this dam mini Dino who's playing "stop start chicken" with me. Sod! Grin

Klapt know the feeling! Ds is severely autistic (and at 17 still does Santa) and has been driving me potty. Last Sunday he had me up at 5am wanting Christmas then instead of this Sunday!

He's finally gone to sleep now. Woohoo :D

I can't sleep but due to anxiety not excitement. I'm emetophobic but the whole world seems to be puking, my mother is 79 today but her memory is suddenly deteriorating fast, and my (muzzled) dog attacked somebody today.

Still. It's Christmas.

I'm awake and cuddling my milk-drunk three week old baby girl. Bliss. Her two brothers are yet to wake but I'm expecting to hear the thud of their feet on the stairs from around 6am, followed shortly by muffled pleading from dh that they go back to bed till 7.

Windy here too - I can hear DS's blasted plastic car rolling about on the deck outside (should have put in shed at end of summer).

Anyone given up & in the kitchen yet?! Too early for Buck's Fizz??

CandODad · 25/12/2016 03:59

Well we went to bed at 1am only to be greeted by bouncing children declaring "he has been" at 1:30. Needless to say they were sent back to bed but are refusing to sleep.
