My aunt has just given me £50 to buy a gift each for my dd13 and ds11.5. I'm at a loss of what to get! Anyone got any ideas? Dd likes anime and art, ds likes guns and Lego/model making. I've already got them everything on their modest lists and am out of ideas. Tempted to just give them the money but aunt wanted them to have something to unwrap.

A selection box to unwrap and the rest of the money?

I've never been sure that I really get why some people are so obsessed with the idea of "something to unwrap". It's not like they are small. Honestly, at that age I appreciated money and being able to choose my own gift much, much more. Unwrapping is not so exciting that it overcomes getting something that isn't necessarily quite what you wanted. I always made thank you cards detailing exactly what I'd spent the money on, which I think meant people felt their gift was really appreciated too

I agree. I always give them money for birthdays so they can go and pick what they like as, according to dd, I have no tasteGrin

I'm thinking to just wrap something I've already got them and say it's from my aunt then give them the £25 each in cash myself.
