Christmas Eve - a buffet of easy party food - mainly frozen - sausage rolls, tempura prawns, sticky chicken skewers.

Boxing Day - cold gammon (I will cook and glaze a joint of gammon on Christmas Eve, so it will be in the fridge, ready to go), baked potatoes and home made coleslaw (chopping red cabbage and grating celeriac and carrots, then mixing in mayo is all the cooking I am going to do on Boxing Day).

Usual trad dinner Christmas Day.
Boxing Day, cold turkey and glazed gammon (cooked Chr. Eve) with baked pots and my own coleslaw. (cabbage, carrot, celery, apple and onion, and not swimming in mayo)
I think we will have extra guests B day so might also make a macaroni pie (lots of cheese, eggs, milk, macaroni and baked in the oven) which is delish and a good buffet table filler. There is never any left!

Christmas Eve: family are coming here for a get together so very similar to SDT - I'm cooking a gammon, hot new potatoes, salad, big bowl of homemade coleslaw, cheese and onion slice (MiL's favourite), cheeseboard, crusty bread, pickles and a selection of desserts.

Christmas Day: breakfast as chosen by DS - crispy bacon, american pancakes, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, possibly fizz/sturdy bloody marys for DP and me. Full Christmas lunch. Leftovers, cheese and crackers, a ton of christmas goodies later if any one wants.

Boxing Day: I'm on call from 7am so it'll be a bit hit and miss. Leftovers, hopefully bubble and squeak with bacon and a fried egg. Obviously a Christmas Day lunch sandwich. Possibly ham, egg and chips later in the evening.

xmas eve - fish pie, buche de noel for pudding

xmas day - veggie 'wellington' (chestnuts, mushrooms, squash etc in puff pastry), roast (& mashed because my kids hate roast) potatoes, red cabbage, roast/carrots & parsnips, bread sauce. Pudding - trifle, ice cream with gingerbread & chocolate sauce

boxing day - left overs, cheese/crackers, fruit, nuts, smoked salmon etc If anyone fancies 'real' food I'll do a puttanesca.

I don't do starters because there is too much food already. On Christmas day we have a champagne brunch at about 11 (coffee (& chocolate) before then) after we've opened stockings. Main meal at about 5 after we've done tree presents & gone for a walk.

We're going out to a very, very naice place for Christmas Eve lunch, then my folks will pop round in the evening for snacks and a movie. I'll be doing a pot of homemade soup and some soda bread rolls, and we'll have cakes, crisps, popcorn and nuts to nibble on.

Christmas Day - I'll do toasted waffles with syrup and strawberries for breakfast and we'll have our big Christmas lunch with my parents at about 2pm. Whole shebang - turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts, glazed parsnips, peas, Yorkshire puds, pigs in blankets and gravy. Turkey sandwiches and various junk food for later on after the initial food coma has passed!

Boxing Day is spent with extended family - usually a chicken/gammon dinner with soup to start and Christmas cake for pudding Xmas Smile

Christmas Eve - Ginger gammon, hassleback potatos, cauliflower cheese (a good one, served as main for veggies and small side for meat eaters) and green beans.

Christmas morning - eggs benedict or eggs florentine for veggies about 9am (no small children here so a civilised start to the day!)

Christmas lunch - seafood platter, simple salad and home baked brown bread for meat eaters, baked Camembert in place of fish for veggies. About 1.

Christmas dinner - evening this year as various guests on morning/afternoon shifts. No starter, the usual turkey, stuffings, pigs in blankets with nut roast for veggies (Plus veggie sides like gravy and bread, orange and cranberry stuffing). All vegetables will be veggie friendly. Desert will be ginger parfait, rich but a small portion. Feels special and Christmassy too. Will probably sit down at 7.

Boxing Day breakfast - home made croissants, fresh fruit salad

Lunch - left over sandwiches on home made bread, roast med vegetable soup (already in the freezer, DH wanted to be prepared this year as Boxing Day and New Year's Eve/Day are designated for him to cook over the festive period)

Evening - cheese board, Christmas cake, more leftover sandwiches... previous years we've had a turkey curry or pie but more veggies this year so decided people are better off choosing what they fancy. If they want hot food they'll happily make toasties etc.

27th breakfast - gruel. It's time you went people...

Anyway, that's the plan! Usually I cook Christmas Eve and day but this year I have Hyperemesis so I've planned the menu and DM/MIL and teenagers are cooking. I get to be über fussy and only eat fresh bread or bread sauce sandwiches with no judgement if that's what takes my fancy. The smell of meet cooking also makes me vom so I'll be safely esconsed on the sofa watching TV. I'm both losing and winning this year!
