Just that really. He's a tricky one. Very practical - not into imaginative play at all. I've got him batman Lego set but I'm struggling now. Any ideas welcome. Tia

A DS?

A Lego table? You could even make one.
Ours is just a coffee table sort of size with a big drawer under and those boards for Lego stuck on top.

Craft sets? The wooden 'build a plane and paint it' kind I mean?
Gross science kit?
Those 'dig a fossil' sets?
A board game?
Weve bought Ds1(7) a globe and a telescope too, if he'd be into that?

Oh sorry, too many question marks Blush

Oh brilliant you guys are on fire! Knex is a great idea actually. He wants a gross science kit but I guess I thought it'd just be a bit of bicarb and vinegar for £20. Maybe I'm being a misery guts about that. He has a ds but maybe there's a particularly cool new game for it . Globe might be an idea. Thanks so much

Pokemon sun and moon is the one my 6 yr old would like.

Yeah the gross science kit we have is pretty much just plaster of Paris (?) and bicarby experiments, but in nose/ear/foot/bladder shaped moulds so it appeals to my gross child
The globe we got is a light up one from Smyths and was only £19.99

You guys are brilliant, I've put a knex helicopter and gross science kit in my amazon basket and I'm off to look at globes.

Things I've got for my 6 year old:
Lego dimensions (Xbox)
Lego hulkbuster set
Paracord bracelet making set.
Star Wars play dough
Star Wars Tsum Tsum
Nexo Knights

My parents are getting him a kiddizoom action cam which he is really excited about.

Lots of great ideas already, I was going to say structured craft/modelling sets and science stuff

My DS (now 7) loved his kiddizoom camera last year. He takes it everywhere.

We've got him the new skylanders game this year.
He's also asked for some more playmobil

Mine is similar. I won't tell you what we've gotten him this time, because we don't know how they'll go down yet. But his favourite things to play with right now are:

An interactive globe
His tablet
His 'making' kit (old electricals with a set of proper tools - hammer, nails, screwdriver set etc/scissors/velcro/torch/string/rubber bands and loads of other stuff)
