There are 2 of us DS and myself.

I always buy a game for Christmas to play

I have the Monopoly , game of life, cluedo , loads of lego games.

Any recommendations greatfully received.

Qwirkle works just fine for 2 people. We enjoy it here, too. :

Family Trivial pursuit. Two question boxes. The adults get harder questions than children.

Labyrinth
We love Qwirkle too, I got the travel edition as it fits on a coffee table much easier (where we tend to play)
Have you got Dobble?

Labyrinth we have I love.

Dobble is looking good too.

Does the ticket to ride work for 2 as well read one review saying no but looks good.

I couldn't think of anything now I am getting a short list thank you.

You could get one of the sub versions of ticket to ride which is more compact so I think better for smaller numbers of people. The Europe one maybe?

But qwirkle would be my top suggestion!

Dobble is a fun quick game but more shallow, your looking for symbols and being the quickest to call out - we have an enjoy but Qwirkle is much meatier and more enjoyable to settle into and have a good game.

We got ticket to ride last year, only played it twice but already love it - great game I have been told there are different versions and one in particular is good to get for two players.
We are getting Camels up this year have heard great things about it on here and great amazon reviews, it looks like great fun.
We also have enchanted forrest, its a lovely game but not as meaty as qwrikle or ticket to ride as its more about memory rather than longer game strategy.

Dobble is fun, but quick and only so long you can stare at the cards looking for symbols!

Camel up is our family fave. We have a huge cupboard filled with board games and camel up is by far the one that comes out the most.
