So that's nice and easy grin

Does anyone know of any good dinosaur toys just incase I don't manage to find a real pet dinosaur?

Get a pet chicken :-)

Can't help with finding a dinosaur but I just wanted to say I feel your pain.

A few years ago DD wanted a crocodile, not a toy crocodile, a real crocodile! When I said she couldn't have one because we had nowhere for it to live, her reply was it can live in the bath mummy - obviously grin. Needless to say she didn't get a crocodile for Christmas and TBH on Christmas Day she never mentioned it.

Would this work for him?

If you have space, Wilkinson has a really nice long necked dinosaur soft toy. It is about 1 meter long though...

1998 was that Christmas for me.

A laa laa doll and Lion-o from thunder cats.
Not a Lion-o doll, ohhh no.
Lion-o the real one hmm

Got him a dog instead grin

My DD wanted a piglet when she was three... I told her that Santa doesn't bring live animals as they would get squished in his sack. So she asked for something that was like a pink animal, and Santa duly delivered a pink Furby. All things ended well.

I know you said dinosaur, but how about a pet dragon?

I saw this in Tesco the other day, I'm thinking of buying one for myself! 😆$ja=tsid:59156%7Ccid:189934165%7Cagid:18091993645%7Ctid:pla-267174434396%7Ccrid:77627768605%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:911157874308683367%7Cdvc:m%7Cadp:1o2&gclid=CKL3upSytNACFYYcGwodLysN1A

How about one of these?
Ds got one last year - it's quite cute and seems fairly robust

Squirrelfruitandnutkin Sat 19-Nov-16 08:30:25

Maybe something like this?

IAmAPaleontologist Sat 19-Nov-16 08:34:42

Dd loves her many, many cuddly toy dinosaurs as per the nhm shop (there is s discount code for them valid until Tuesday, can't remember what it is but i posted it on the Christmas bargains thread the other day). The Playmobil dino range is fantastic too though a pet dinosaur makes me think cuddly rather than plastic.

Pleo dinosaurs are amazing, but expensive (£100 second hand on eBay)

ChocolateBudgeCake Sat 19-Nov-16 09:44:56

I'd recommend Boris from Dinosaur Train (others available too) you can get them from Amazon. He 'talks' and can interact with other dinos in the range.

Or I've seen a very large inflatable dinosaur on amazon too.

Maybe a zoomer dinosaur pet or you can find Mattel Interactive Pet Dinosaurs on ebay.

Bobsmum02 Sat 19-Nov-16 11:50:56

Was also going to say a Zoomer Dinosaur...I noticed these were reduced in my local asda this week.

this is a great book about a boy who DOES get a dinosaur grin

LightsLoveLaughter Sat 19-Nov-16 20:01:08

You could have it blown up, ready and waiting, guarding anymore presents if he has any.

DS2 had a pet dinosaur. It was an invisible triceratops. We tried to leave it at home when we went on holiday to Cornwall, but it managed to wiggle out the letter box and chased us the whole journey. He was so impressed that it could manage 90mph.

I got my 5yo nephew an aquadragon kit for his birthday and it was great! They hatched in March and lived until a few weeks ago.

Lots of good ideas! I'll get googling!
