Pre Christmas get together of friends. Doing the bourbon Aldi ham. Need help with the sides. Was thinking red cabbage and roast veg but what kind of potatoes? I did dauphinoise last year so want to avoid that. I feel roasties are too dry if no gravy. Not a fan of mash. Any tips much appreciated :)

I recently did a sort of dutchess potato, mash made with cream, and butter pipped in swirls on a baking tray then egg washed and browned in the oven. people were raving about them!
