Do you use Christmas wrapping paper you still have from last year?

Year after year I buy nice stuff from paper chase or wherever. I still have some left over from last year. I've never reused it before - should / do you always buy new stuff?

I used to. Then realised that this was pretty silly as I just end up with rolls of leftover wrapping paper that couldn't really be used for anything.
So now I don't, I use last years paper.

I always pick similar colours so old and and new paper 'match' under the tree though Grin

Why wouldn't you use it? It's new surely, as in unused. I'm a bit baffled why you wouldn't...

Good lord why on earth wouldn't you?

Yes, of course. It never occurred to me not to.

I have stockpiles of wrapping paper going back years that I have bought in the January sales. It gets rotated each year.

Not just last year's...it gets used until it's finished. Even if it takes a decade! Xmas Grin

I don't personally. I have my Christmas Traditions things that come out every year , but once the wrapping paper is used for one Christmas, I don't keep it.
Any leftover rolls go to the charity shop (I used to give it to the school when the DC were Primary).
I don't buy it in the sales though I know loads of people do and save a fortune.

I use boxes/bags with tissue paper, much quicker. My DC are teens so their presents are little, fewer and ££ Xmas Grin

I do, but I wrap all my presents in brown paper!

This sounds worse than it is. I make them very fancy with buttons, fabric ribbons, foliage, prints, stick on felt thingys.

Why on earth would you buy new paper if you still have enough left from last year? I check in the January sales if I need more & get it cheap. If I have planty left, I don't bother buying any that year.

The only reason I don't is that my mum says it's unlucky to use stuff from last year (ridiculous I know)

I don't even remember the paper from, last year anyway

I always use last year's paper. I don't really understand why you wouldn't, unless you wanted everything under the tree to have exactly the same design of paper and were worried about running out.

I don't like matching anyway, I like a nice hotch potch. I use a mix of lots of different papers, and if there's any left, it goes back into the wrapping paper box until next year, or whenever.

The only exception is paper used to wrap the stocking presents. I try not to have any left of that, and if there is any left, I would have to hide it or get rid of it somehow so the DC won't see it - FC paper has to be secret. If I did manage to hide it, I would happily use it for stocking presents for another year.

Of course I reuse it. I also save nice bits of last year's to wrap stoking presents as that can use up loads.

Now there's a superstition that's been made up by a wrapping paper salesman....

Yes, use it for relatives and friends. I buy new for home as each person has a set paper so I don't have to bother with tags. It can then go straight into a bag for recycling when everything has been opened.

Definately.

I would probably keep some my presents came in, if I opened it carefully Grin

I recently found lots of wrapping paper from last year and my first thought was great, one less thing to pay for.
