Presents for "cool" teen

DD1 is 13 and is "cool" (not sure what being cool involves, but DD2 in the year below confirms that yes DD1 is regarded as cool).

The main present she wants this year is fairly pricey and she has been very good about not asking for lots of other stuff. I want to get a few things for her stocking (which we still do) but because she has not asked for other stuff I need ideas. My sister has also requested some ideas.

So any suggestions? What are the "cool" make up brands, accessories etc? Stocking is fairly large so don't need to be particularly small in size. I would quite like to impress her by my (borrowed from MN) coolness.

So far I have on my list of possibilities a jar of marshmallow fluff, one of those lipsticks with a flower in it, a couple of frames for instax photos and a grow your own cactus kit. Which may or may not be cool!

Thanks. CK undies is a good call. WiIl check out the various make ups. She likes Urban Outfitters . Other clothes mainly come from vintage shops which I am a bit scared of, so am not brave enough to choose clothes for her.

My dd goes for Bare Minerals, Benefit or Mac makeup when she can afford it.
Undies, she's not fussed where they come from but loves a matching set.
Her Michael Kors watch was the biggest hit last year for her 13th Birthday.
OPI or Essie nail polishes or bits and pieces, fake nail kits too.
Good make up brushes, dd uses an old set of my Nars brushes and her friends were v impressed apparently.
Dd has just had a leather type jacket and some new cons for her Birthday.

GeorgiePeachie thank you so much! It's been many years since I've been even vaguely cool Grin

Ted Baker do some nice but reasonably priced jewellery which my "cool" nearly 16 year old approves of.

Too faced make up is approved of. Charlotte Tilbury too- they are doing a set of 3 mini lipsticks again this year which were a hit with mine last Christmas.

Marc Jacobs perfume sets

Portable phone charger is much used

Mine likes thick or fluffy socks from Jack Wills or Joules for slobbing or being on the yard

Amelia Jane pom-pom hat

DD is arty so her stocking has a new set of pens and pencils every year

TK MAxx is great for OPI sets at reduced prices

The likes of 1D, Zoella, Harry Potter etc are not for her (she likes the Harry Potter books, films, play but not interested in HP branded items). It is difficult. I can easily choose things for DD2 as she has fairly standard tastes for her age. DD1 has become much harder to buy for as she does very much have her own style.
We are getting her a new phone for Christmas so although she will need a new phone case etc, my problem is that stockings are opened first thing and other presents after lunch so if she gets a phone case in her stocking she will know that we have caved in on the phone before she opens it (she has asked for a new phone but she does not know she is definitely getting it).

I will add make up brushes (as well as the CK undies) to the list. She actually does not wear much make up yet, but def getting interested.

thanks. Will check out the Ted B jewellery. I think I have heard her mention too faced make up now you mention it, so I will take a look at that.
Will check out the pom pom hats for DD2 - she has a large collection but have not heard of Amelia Jane.

I'm not sure they count as 'cool' but the large sets of multi-coloured sharpies seemed to be much coveted last year (dd then 13) - very useful for maps, diagrams etc in school, ditto multi-packs of Staedler (sp?) fineliner pens in assorted colours.

Second the socks, seems odd but mine love them.

Also Real Techniques make up brush set, and those drink cup things with straws and funky patterns.

Gig tickets are always popular in our house (although bit pricey for a stocking).

Subscription to Spotify Premium and Netflix.

Fuck me teens these days are cool aren't they? I don't think I'm 'good enough' for these brands and I'm a fully grown, earn my own money adult.

I was going to suggest Primark bits and fluffy socks.

Victoria's Secret indeed...

I've hit a mental block. I have a 13yo dd who obviously no longer believes but gets a stocking for the benefit of younger siblings (she'll probably get one forever!), and this year I can hardly think of anything to go in it.
She's not particularly brand obsessed, Victoria secrets underwear would be lost on her, underwear is something you wear everyday that's an essential, I buy her underwear sets all the time, it's not a treat for her! She doesn't cake her face in makeup, so brushes, contouring kits etc wouldn't be used. Socks, arty supplies, perfume and a Lindt santa will probably feature, cinema voucher, iTunes vouchers will go down well and she always gets books... they have sacks not stockings!

I'm watching for inspiration .
