I've bought dd a few bits and pieces, bath bombs, makeup etc. I'm stuck on what else to buy though, £100 budget, so either one main present or a few smaller ones. I have asked her for ideas but she just said she wants a surprise!!

Make up lesson - I think Mac do one for example.
Cinema gift box - two tickets and voucher for drink/snack.
Has she any hobbies?

frazzled74 Thu 10-Nov-16 23:48:10

No real hobbies, she likes reading, make up, Harry Potter, the make up lesson sounds like it might be a possibility.

A tablet ( haven't actually got this yet )
Pokemon hoody and leggings.
A case for her tablet
Harry Potter hoody
Harry Potter fluffy socks

Fleecy blanket

I still need to get her a few bits but I'm a bit stuck for ideas.

14 y/o dd here, also a big Harry Potter fan. On my list at the moment:
- season 3 of GBBO download,
- book/s (a couple of sequels I know she'd like are recently out),
- potentially Fantastic Beasts pjs (but waiting until she's seen the movie in case it is Wrong)
- Quibbler jotter set

For her stocking I've so far got Owl post earrings from ebay and some fluffy socks.

Sadik Sat 12-Nov-16 12:12:07

What I'd really like to find is something stocking fillers not HP related!

From buying one for my niece recently, i recall that the full cost of a mac makeover can be redeemed against the purchase of mac makeup which seems a great deal. I bought her a £50 makeover voucher which was an hour an a half where she would be taught some new skills and have a makeover and then get to spend £50 on makeup.
She had the makeover and said it was awful, the lady who did it wasn, she said, very nice, but hadn't listened to her at all - and 'forgot' that she could have some makeup at the end aswell so when niece reminded her, the lady was a bit confused. Niece went to boots, bought makeup wipes and removed it all!! But she was happy to get £50 worth of makeup!!

I will get my DD a voucher to get shellac nails done. Not something I have an interest in but something coveted by her. Can get this in local hotel and I will get her a voucher for afternoon tea for two there too (hopefully she will want to bring me!). Got her a hollister hoody on sale for €25. For anyone considering, they are very bloody small. So am hoping it fits. She broke her phone a few weeks ago so hoping I will be able to get her a phone. Got a few other little bits like the shampoo/conditioner she likes, sweets etc. She is such a great help to me all year I want to get her stuff she likes. Some lovely ideas here.

My DD didn't need any "gadgets" this year and I've been looking out for bargains during the past few months. She's into clothes, makeup, art, Cassandra Clare books, Harry Potter and the Stranger Things Netflix series.

I've now completed her Xmas shopping:
Adidas superstar trainers (a bargain from Zalando at £35)
Clothes parcel consisting of jacket, hoodie, leggings, Tshirt and dress (all branded stuff from JD sports sale)
"Stranger Things" Tshirt, tote bag, necklace and badges
Harry Potter Deathly Hallows DVDs
Cassandra Clare's new Book
Mandala colouring book
Bath bombs
Jack wills hairbands
Deodorant, shower gel and perfume
Tube of sweets

She gets quite a bit from other family members, so besides money, I know she is getting an Adidas bag, Pyjamas, makeup and a onesie too.

Primark have Pokemon clothing too. Got ds1 a t-Shirt in adult section.

Trinia Sun 13-Nov-16 08:38:28

My Dd is 12 (well will be 2 weeks before Xmas) and has asked for a pair of Superstar trainers I'll check out Zalando... Thanks for that!

She struggling to name anything else. So far I have her:
Fluffy dressing gown with bear ears from Primark
Pug pjs from new look
Slipper socks
Bag from new look
Jack wills bath set and make up brushes from boots
Unicorn led light decoration new look

Plan to get
Little mix cd and book
Allegiance DVD
Divergent series book box set
Lip balms, sweets, pen and diary, bath bombs

It feels all wrong though. This is what she likes now but I feel wired buying clothes and no toys for Xmas!

She's having a bowling party for her birthday, I've also bought her some pink straightners and booked a hair appt. She'll love this but I'm so sad that this time of year is so different this year! ( sorry to derail thread with my whinging!).

Trinia Sun 13-Nov-16 08:41:02

Oh, I also have her a long mirror and pink fluffy rug for her room.

Lilaclily Sun 13-Nov-16 08:42:31

Is primary online or just in store?

LucyLocketLostHerPocket Sun 13-Nov-16 09:08:53

Two of mine want phones so a Samsung S7 and an IPhone SE plus a few bits for stockings. Will be very weird to only have one present under the tree but they will be £35 a month each for two years and I don't have unlimited funds. I too miss the days when I could pile them high and see their little faces light up. DH and I rarely get anything for each other as our budget goes on DC. Mind you I thought we were generous but sometimes MN makes me feel we don't give them enough stuff.
