Suggestions for a nearly 3 year old

My dd will be 3 in Feb. So far I've got her some peppa pig play doh and a couple of Disney DVDs and some pyjamas and mittens. I don't know what else to get though either big presents or stocking fillers. Anyone got any suggestions? What does your three year old like? We have lots of toys and books already so I want stuff that will be played with lots (hopefully anyway!) or just useful stuff. Was thinking socks and pants for her stocking with a favourite TV character on...

She loves Thomas the tank engine , peppa pig, Ben and holly and Bob the builder ! Oh and minions!

I was going to say the little Thomas the Tank Engine pocket books for her stocking, but see you've said you've got enough books already. I'm getting lots of socks, pants and vests for my dcs to pad their stocking out a bit so they're not getting too much plastic tat that takes up space. Also chocolate coins, a tiny orange? I'm planning on getting glow in the dark stars/stickers for ds1's room too.

Big present...train set? Duplo? Play kitchen? Dolls house?

I am in the same boat, struggling for ideas for Christmas and my DS birthday (also in December). Really don't want more toys / plastic tat but want him to have a couple of bits to open. If I think of anything will let you know!

Thanks! She does already have some Thomas books but small books for stocking would be an idea (she had loads but I guess you can't have too many books really!)

Glow in the dark stickers are a good idea and chocolate will definitely feature!

Dds birthday is just after Christmas as well!

Mil has got her a train set for xmas already and she got a play kitchen last year. There is only so much stuff we can fit in our house!!

DD will be 3 in April and is getting a Playmobil 123 house, a Tidlo music box and a girl doll "with hair, not baby" as she keeps talking about the one at nursery. Plus Ikea doll bed.

My DM is knitting her Miss Mouse from Show me show me, and getting her who knows what... PiL, who knows!

What about the Orchard Toys Lotto games, or some of their other simple ones? DD plays (with help) Lotto, Incy Wincy, Round and Round (wheels on the bus) games- the latter the biggest hit.
ELC Jitterbugs game is noisy but good fun, or quieter magnetic fishing
Puzzles?
Art stuff/stickers?
Schleich animals- she is DC2 so we already have a well loved collection that's easy to add to.

Ooh games are a great idea I'll look at those thanks. She has a few puzzles but some more might be good. She doesn't have any playmobil ...is it like bricks? She has duplo which she loves.

DD is 3 and I've got lots of crafty bits- stamps, stickers, sponges etc.
Tiger is great- magnetic fishing game, small animals, activity books. She also likes bath bombs from Lush.
Last year I got some animal masks which are still played with and finger puppets.

DS is 3 just after Christmas and across the two he's getting:

  • Viga wooden dollhouse with furniture
  • Kukkia wooden magnetic drawing board (he loves the little plastic versions of these but they break so easily, hopefully this one will be more sturdy)
  • More play food and money for his kitchen/shop
  • Brio train track and accessories for his existing set
  • Duplo
  • Play doctor set

Then for his stocking he has:

  • Paper lasers
  • Spiral glitter wand
  • Foam soap
  • Bath crayons
  • Books
  • Thorntons chocolate Snowdog
  • Selection pack of cereals
  • Stickers
  • Torch
  • Police helmet and builder hat for dressing up

My DD will be 3 in March.

We've got her some Peppa stuff (digger, car, books, planning on maybe the helicopter/plane or some of the fairground stuff - mostly from eBay). Her main present is an easel with a big ream of paper, chalks and pens (Ikea). She loves Peppa and painting!

DM has got her some Playmobil and a shop till. She got a kitchen last year so the till will go with that as she's currently into playing shops.

Haven't started on the stocking yet. They're just silly things in our house so it'll be a few bits from Poundland, a colouring book, probably a teddy bear of some kind.

Thanks everyone! I've bought an orchard you game - the bus stop one as she loves buses! Going to get jitterbugs too as that looks right up her street.

Love bath bombs for stocking so will look for those. Also till and play money is a good idea.

Mine are two and three and I don't want too much tat. They are getting duplo, ride on toys (will be kept outside in shed)

Also a puppet from the puppet company (Amazon) for night time stories. Really love it. Some DVDs

They got the train set last year so I got more little magnet trains and I spotted tesco have battery operated ones so might get those (they get money from relatives) and there are also wooden houses/ police station etc to match the train set.

My DD will be 3 a few days before Christmas and I'm struggling for her too. I have learnt my lesson and I'm not buying her much! Annoyingly I have her birthday to think about too so the below will be spread across both.

Wooden dolls house and furniture set from Asda (really lovely and great for the price)

She is desperate for a 'peppy pup' after seeing the adverts so I'm going to get one as they have good reviews and she's not allowed a real dog!

Some surprise eggs/blind bag things for her stocking as she always watches the YouTube videos Hmm

After that I'm stuck. MIL is getting her some dressing up stuff and some Orchard Toys games. My DM is getting some My Little Ponies and a cot/high chair for her doll as she's getting more in to playing with that recently.

What about a scooter? I got the Ozzbozz 'my first scooter' for DD in the summer for £10 off Amazon which she really likes and it's decent for the price. Also Happyland stuff is always a hit here too.

I've just ordered one of these wheeled baskets for DS (probably for his birthday just after Christmas) which I know he is going to love filling with things and wheeling around. I'm hoping it will end his obsession with carrying the basket in shops too.

DD is going to be 3 in Jan. For her main Xmas presents she's getting a Honeybake baking set and cake for her toy kitchen, and a small doll's house with v basic furniture (will build on the furnishings for her birthday!). Her stocking will contain a book, new set of crayons, hairclips, binoculars and a Dora doll.

Trying to rein it in with the presents this year - last year she got present fatigue and wasn't interested in opening presents after a while!

I'm steering away from character things and going for Playmobil that can be added to over the years.

redhouses we've just ordered that dolls house and furniture set from asda too for our nearly dd, she'll be 3 in April. They've got lots of really lovely wooden toys. 20% off at the moment too.

She also loves playing with the doctors set - I'll put some real sticking plasters and bandages in her stocking to go with it.

A pencil case full of washable (!) felt tips was a hit here last year too.

My df recently turned 3, and her most played with toy is a Grimms large rainbow (endless uses) and a baby Annabelle doll.

Main presents are a Tomy ice cream bath toy, new books (we have hundreds but you can never have too many) and an IKEA kitchen. Oh and she's asking for a pink airplane toy?

In her stocking she is getting a lovely handmade pencil roll from etsy, a handmade puzzle spelling her name also from etsy, some letter magnets for the fridge, Disney battery toothbrush, character bubble bath, holztiger wooden animals, a Posy soft toy (from Pip and Posy books, she has Pip already from last year) and chocolate coins and pink smarties.
