Christmas tree lights

I need a new set of tree lights and I'm not sure how many I should go for (I threw the old ones away in January without noting down how many were in our old set . We usually have a 6ft real tree. Any recommendations? I always go for white but I've noticed you can now get two different types of white? Love twinkly lights.

Always get more than you would think. Lots of lights looks better than a few lights dotted around. I think we have about 800 or there abouts. And we have warm white.

Officially they say 100 per foot and a half but sounds a lot to me!

BeingAT are your 800 lights all one set? I agree lots look better than just a few but I don't think I have seen sets that large, will start looking.

Flapjack I have not heard that, thanks :)

I'd heard 100 per foot, but that'd be far too many for me. I'd go 50 per foot and then add 100!

No, not one set. We have 2 I think.

Our tree is 7ft, prelim with 400 soft white lights. We add about 600 coloured lights c one set is 400 tiny led lights and the other is 200 regular lights. Because all the lights are quite small and just bulbs, it doesn't look overdone.

The issue I had is that with most of the LED lights, the bulbs are much smaller than the older types and seem closer together so replacing 400 old type for 400 new won't necessarily mean it will cover the same size tree. You also can't replace individual bulbs if they go.

I prefer warm white as it's more cosy and natural looking than the very bright, almost blue tone white.

Most now have the little box attached so you can make them flicker.

Oh god no. Static lights only or I start to get a headache.

We actually have more lights than this now but I am struggling to find a picture of the tree without people in front of it to show you.
