Hi all!! Need some advice on what posh Gin you would most appreciate to receive for a special Christmas gift?
This is for DPs DM....

Also on a side note, does anyone know when Marks and Spencers will start stocking the Sipsmith Lemon drizzle Gin? (Very much looking forward to that one myself) thanks Smile

Monkey 47, Filliers, Bathtub, Rockrose or The Botanist are my favourites!

I'm quite partial to Berry Bros for a basic gin or Saffron gin for a bit of warmth are just so many

Bathtub is yummy! Also Whitney Neil, Hendrix also nice as they are doing a presentation pack with pretty measure at the minute!
Not the curry one!

definitely rock rose, who have just brought out an autumn edition

or Edinburgh Gin do a rhubarb and ginger liqueur which makes a great cocktail with prosecco

Hepple is tasty, or if you can get your hands on it my absolute favourite is Wicked Wolf, made on Dartmoor.

I will have a look at all of these as they all sound great!!! Just spoke to DP, apparently his DM likes a particular one that comes from a cornish distillery but he has no idea what it is. Hmm which isn't useful. But I'm sure she will like a very different posh Gin. Now, do I get some for me just to taste too, purely just to check of course Grin

You definitely need to get some to test beforehand

It then comes down to, which to try first? Wonder if we could have a pre-Christmas MN gin tasting party? Grin

You can get the lemon drizzle gin online from M&S now

Silent pool is pretty nice. Or for home consumption the Aldi one is lovely, really smooth and great for cocktails, comes highly recommended by a few friends who know their stuff. Prob not posh enough for a pressie though.

The October bottle in the craft gin club is yum - and christmassy!

Is the Cornish gin Tarquins?

I need a gin bar really as Id like to taste a lot few before I commit to buying a bottle. Am looking forward to the lemon drizzle gin though - my favourite cake and gin together in one bottle Smile

Tarquin's Gin

I treated myself whilst at the Great Cornish Food Festival last month. Delicious!

Forest Gin is lovely and comes in a beautiful bottle. I also love Gin Mare. Sipsmith have a lemon drizzle out too.

Lemon Drizzle Gin?

My gin wish list is growing longer by the day Grin

Smile DP thinks that sounds familiar, but he doesn't seem to know really. Need to educate him in the joys of good Gin. Or actually maybe not and just save it all for myself. Grin

Elemental is another Cornish gin. It is lush as is the previously mentioned Tarquin's.

I'm beginning to think Christmas should just be renamed Gin day at this rate. How to narrow down the choices I have no idea.

DD has this solution to trying lots of different gins. A bottle a month is a bit much for me though.
