I was thinking about Christmases past and one particular year when I was a small child.

I was chosen to be Mary, both in Sunday school and at Primary School. I was 5 years old and it was odd but the same lad was Joseph in both nativity's too. (no he didn't end up my husband!)

That year, on christmas eve I put on several pairs of knickers, I was very distraught and not enjoying the festivities as I normaly did, my parents were confused, I eventually burst into tears and said I didn't want to give birth to Jesus (hence the numerous pairs of knickers to keep him in)... I was convinced I was the 'real' Mary and i was about to give birth (I had puppy fat on my belly and thought it was the growing little one)

My son's French pen friend asked if he could visit us during the Christmas holidays. My son invited him to stay from the 27th until New year. Unfortunately he forgot to cross the 7, so on the 21st I got a frantic phone call saying that there was no-one to meet him at the station. Fortunately he was a lovely lad and we did not have the heart to tell him our mistake.

All of my family bought him Christmas presents and we did have a wonderful and very funny Christmas. My mum kept speaking to him in English but with some weird French accent.
