Trees. How early is too early? 🤔

It's my ds first xmas this year. I am beyond excited, for the first time ever I've been impatiently waiting for the xmas stock to hit the shelves so I can buy nice stuff for the house.

So! With that in mind, would I be totally mad to have my tree up like......1 Nov? Too early? Grin
I can't be the only sado out there!

We get a real tree and put it up about a week before Christmas. Otherwise it drops everywhere

First weekend in December.
You will get boredom it by xmas if you put it up too early, it's not as special

One week before Christmas for us too. Much to the annoyance of the DCs who complain that all their friends put theirs up much earlier but as it's me who clears up the pine needles I get to dictate.

im in the same situation this year, well a similar one. Its my first christmas in my new flat after the end of a 28 year abusive relationship came to fruition. I am so excited about it (and I am 51) I have already ordered a shiny new silver tree from the states. I had a silver tree as a child but wasnt allowed one before (my ex always controlled what I bought, including the christmas decs). My 27 year old son and 21 year old daughter and her boyfriend will be with me, sadly my 23 year old son will be working but I am going to use that as an excuse to do an early celebration for him...I think 1st December is when the tree goes up (or maybe at midnight on 30th November!) Have fun, and enjoy all the celebrations

Congratulations Gypsy and pregnantat50! Both excellent reasons to get excited about Christmas way too early Grin My excuse is we are in our new (to us) house this year and I'm already spending hours on Pinterest and wondering when I can buy decorations and a new tree to stash away. I reckon our tree will go up the first weekend in December. Can't wait!

It won't even have been fireworks by then! We went to centre parcs in November last year when ds2 was 10 weeks and it was full on Christmas there. Not that he cared but ds1 did!

For various reasons we will have to take our tree down early. But according to boyfriend (who is the one insisting we have it), we can't put it up commensurately early to makeup for the loss at the other end.

I think he said 1st Dec and no earlier.

I've worked in retail for many, many years and unloaded/sorted many a xmas delivery whilst back to school stuff still in the shops in August.
Probably why I leave it as late as possible to put my own up!Grin🎅🎄🎁

Ours will be going up 1st of December. DD2 is due in January but it's looking likely she will be 'pulled out' around Christmas so thought we better make the most of the rest of December for DD1 (and us).

Yes, I can understand that Ijustwannadance, I would be the same if I worked in a retail environment...

Having said that, when I was 14 I had a Saturday job in a toy shop and I still loved toys! :)

Couple of days before Christmas.

I like Christmas but a week is plenty. It goes on too long these days...

Our fake tree gave up last year so we will have to buy a new one or two or three Grin
