Grandparent's life journal

I'm thinking of getting a grandparents journal / life journal type book for my mil who loves recounting stories and has talked on and off about writing a book about her travels.

Has anyone any recommendations- looking for something smart, nice feel to the paper etc., there are so many options online that I haven't a clue.

I don't want to burden her either so if you got one for a grandparent, did it get used? I've got about 8 baby books gathering dust that I never had time to fill in and secretly resented getting.
