Argos 3 for 2?

Eggsbutnobacon · 17/09/2016 08:10

Have a free day today and thought I would start Christmas shopping with toys at Argos.
But wait, I ask myself when will the 3 for 2 on toys be on?
Nothing worse than thinking you are bought and wrapped and then realising you should just have waited a few weeks to save a fortune.

I always get love to shop vouchers and wait for the 3 for 2 at Argos, I'm sure it's usually the end of October beginning of November and sometimes one in December, but it doesn't usually get announced till the day before.

I'm certain I read somewhere 25th or 27th September.

I've got my list ready and have picked some stuff up on other deals where it's cheaper but I am excited!

One of the items I had my eye on went reduced and is now out of stock so I'm hopeful that they get more in before the offer even at full price.

I've been wondering this too. I'm sure it's usually about now, because it's usually the first Christmas shopping I do each year!

DS1's birthday is on Tuesday - once we've had that, all thoughts turn to Christmas Grin.

Been today and got a few bits. The playmobil blind bags are great for Stocking. 1.99 each and on 3 4 2.

I have reserved six things for DD & another six for children of friends who we normally buy something for.

Some things are available immediately - others not until 4pm, so I'll physically go to town in the morning to pick it all up!

One of the things I've reserved for DD is a Lego Advent Calendar. They're great, but I do feel slightly bad spending £20 on an advent calendar. Not this year Grin.

Not everything is included is it though but crap really!

Yeah all toys.

And also a lot of the stuff in the offer were reduced already yesterday ! And now back at full price.. That's how they do it so you aren't actually saving, they tried to do it to me last year I reserved the day before when an item was £17 cheaper but when 3 for 2 started the next day it went up to full price, I told them I'd reserved it at X price so not paying full.

And it's not all toys.. Maybe you have got lucky on the stuff you want but the Bosch kids toolbox isn't in it, and a couple of other bits I've tried. Also bikes aren't in it.

I have 9 things but some are more expensive than others. Will they let me pay for them in three lots? So I can group the stuff that costs the most and least together - otherwise I will only be saving about £30 when I could save more like £70

Through - I would reserve it as three separate transactions. So put the three most expensive items together & reserve/pay for them. Then the next three and reserve/pay for them. And then finally the cheapest three things as your third reservation number.

You can still collect them all at the same time if you are collecting.

Regina not much seems to have the "purple 3for2 splodge" next to it - no. But if you put the things you want in your basket, the reduction will show. Not absolutely everything is included, toys in the "Clearance" section aren't for example. Everything else is though!

I don't know about bikes, but I don't think they are actually classed as "toys" are they? Confused

Regina I've had a quick look at the tool box you wanted - it isn't included, but I think that's probably because it's a delivery only item.

The Black & Decker workbench is in the deal & also has £15 off to start with. Would that be any use?

Report
ReginaBlitz · 21/09/2016 12:41

Ahh that might be why the other bits aren't then.. I assumed bikes wouldn't be but saw someone mention on a different thread that selected bikes were or was it this thread?!! And also regarding the prices unless you do them in seperate transactions it will just take off all the cheapest things, so 5 things at £30 and 4 at £20 it will take off 3 things at £20... Bit crap doing seperate transactions online though as you are paying repeated delivery!

Report
NapQueen · 21/09/2016 12:43

If you can collect that's where the best savings are.

I did three separate transactions today, three at 7.99 three at 5.99 and three at 1.99
