Please tell me someone else shares this affliction at inappropriate times of the year! where's the Santa emotion

Oddly enough, so have I! grin

I've been waking up like that for at least two weeks now. So has DD. We've been secretly watching Christmas films and plotting outings etc. She's 19, but is as excited as if she were 5. I've clearly brought her up well fgrin

I usually have that happen randomly in August. So far not yet, but noticing some leafs changing colour and Halloween things in shops....can't be to far away!

I watched Elf yesterday blush That's early even for me!
I do love Christmas though. It's DS's first Christmas this year so perhaps that's why the excitement has started now! grin

I did a rummage in my card stash box earlier and got some out to start writing blush

I have been secretly searching for the perfect advent calendar ... For myself grin

AnyFarrahFowler Fri 09-Sep-16 23:28:40

Oh yes, I'm guilty of looking at beauty-product-based advent calendars too! I've had Benefit ones for the past 2 years so fancy a change this year.

I get this all the time 🎄🎅⛄️ I think it's the weather!

Oh God - I keep seeing signs for Christmas and getting the shivers. Shame really - I used to love it before I married my DH and had the inlaws!

TheLegendOfBeans Sat 10-Sep-16 00:03:16

I'm with you. Form many years and with good reason I hated hated hated Christmas. Now finally my life is better then this will be the second year I've been bang up for it!

Counting down already, only 14 weekends to go! grin

wobblywonderwoman Sat 10-Sep-16 08:19:11

anyfar are the benefit ones worth it? What sort of things do you usually get in them?

Badders123 Sat 10-Sep-16 08:27:32

14 weekends!?

AnyFarrahFowler Sat 10-Sep-16 09:05:03

Yeah they're quite good - last year's only had 12 windows - it was "The Twelve Days of Christmas" - but the samples were things like mini under-eye concealer, mini face cream, lip tint etc. Quite good for sticking in your wash bag if you're going away overnight. I'm fancying a change this year though. I think Yankee Candle do one. The Jo Malone one looks good but it's very pricey!

I think we need a Beauty Advent calendar thread! So far I've not seen any that I want. Good news for the purse! Would like a Lush one if they're doing one for dsd.

I got the m and s one last year. I'll be getting it again this year. You got lots of different products to try.

rosie1959 Sat 10-Sep-16 11:01:37

Far too early to think about Christmas we have a forecast of 28 for next week so can't be the weather
I hate winter horrible short days
Mind you I'm a bit of a bah humbug so not something I look forward to roll on spring

LazySusan11 Sat 10-Sep-16 11:08:53

With the greatest respect Rosie this is a Christmas board most likely for those who enjoy discussing it. You can hide and pass us by anytime.

rosie1959 Sat 10-Sep-16 11:14:49

My post was about Christmas sorry didn't realise they could only be positive ones

ItchyFoot Sat 10-Sep-16 11:17:45

I dreamt about the Christmas decorations two days ago and when I woke up my grandma had come round with iced mince tarts grin

everdene Sat 10-Sep-16 11:19:23

Yes! My people! I've been listening to Kate Rusby's Christmas album this week haha!

CiderwithBuda Sat 10-Sep-16 11:33:36

It's the time of year I usually start thinking about it. Less to do this year as I think it will be just DH, DS and I. We have had a houseful the last couple of years and MIL before that. I'm kind of looking forward to it just being us. Planning a week in the sun over new year too.

I bought myself a Yankee Candle Advent Candle this week. Was at a Hallmark outlet shop and they had some for £19.99 which I assume were last year's as they didn't have any other Xmas stuff.

I love Lego and last year bought myself a Xmas themed set - toy shop I think - and DH got me another one but I didn't have time to build them so will start that soon. I'm away for three weeks from mid October too. Have a shelf they will look nice on.

I bought my 1st Christmas present yesterday, now I just have to remember where I've put it come December when I need to wrap it!

TheLegendOfBeans Sat 10-Sep-16 18:23:48

Starting Christmas shopping next week because this year WILL be the year I'm organised waaaaaay in advance 👍

I bought my first Christmas present last week too. I usually start thinking about Christmas when the schools go back in August.
