Where to buy really nice stockings?

DD and I both need a new stocking this year and I'd really like something gorgeous, even if not particularly bargainous. I saw a beautiful embroidered stocking in M&S last Christmas but seemed too steep at £20 at the tie as we'd just bought everything, and have regretted it since! Would like something with a nice design, something vintage/folky etc if that makes any sense (rather than a huge Santa face or tartan). Where should I try?

There's a seller on Facebook that makes lovely ones called My Little Sew and Sew. Not sure if it's the type of thing you're after but they have good reviews. I've also heard good things about Lands End stockings

For what you're after, I'd have a look on etsy. Handmade sounds the sort of thing you need.

I was coming on to say Etsy too. Lots of lovely (but it some cases quite expensive) stockings.

I bought the lovely vintage style one in M&S last year, but I bought it as part of 3 for 2 offers so felt like I could justify the price.

I bought it for my mom as a treat, and I'm so glad I did as we found out a few days before Christmas she had cancer. She's been having treatment is is going to be fine, but it made me realise if I can't afford a treat for my family then I will.

Hope you find one you like this year!

Etsy is your friend. 43 pages of hand made stockings from the UK alone! Saw some lovely woodland ones for about £14. Laura Ashley can do some nice ones too.

If you want something that you can't buy in the shops have a look at sproutpatterns.com/projects

Even if you don't sew, they offer a white glove service and will sew up your "holiday stocking" for you. There are some beautiful designs and you can choose from the whole of Spoonflower fabrics and make up your own perfect stocking.

Matalan do lovely, latge, red knitted ones with initials on the front. Think they were about £10.
