My sister is Harry Potter mad so for Xmas I'm going to do a box filled with Harry Potter things.
Any ideas on what I could put in it?
I've already seen pj's and travel mug but need some other ideas

Her favourite characters wand?

You can get some of the sweets for the book online too.

Are you any good at baking?

GrimmauldPlace Thu 19-May-16 17:50:23

Well.. I'm a little harry potter mad and have loads of merchandise! EBay is a good place to look and Amazon. I have wands, a hedwig, framed photos from the films, a time Turner necklace and ear rings, a snitch, gryffindor scarf, a tattoo Don't think you'll be able to put that in a gift box grin, deathly hallows necklace. Oh I could go on for a while. There's lots out there!

Have you seen the TV remote control wands?

HP socks.

Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans

Chocolate Frogs

I've seen these on Amazon.

My sister got a Gryffindor quidditch hoodie

Cuddly toy owl

themumfairy Thu 19-May-16 17:55:06

Haha me too. I'll be buying 2 of everything!
Thanks I'll have a look on there.
I'd like to get her thing she'll use but I definitely need a wand.

How much skill would the baking require. I can manage simple things grin

Waltermittythesequel Thu 19-May-16 17:59:12

Yes but the wand changes the TV!!!

Last time I went in to primark (which was about a year ago!) they had quite a lot of HP clothes. T shirts, pj's, hoodies etc. You can get shot glasses (don't know how old your sister is) with all the houses crests on. Does she have the spin off books? There's the magical beasts and where to find them and quidditch through the ages. Probably a few more I'm forgetting! Plus there's the cursed child screenplay being released in July.

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 18:22:51

I had a website with amazing recipes bookmarked but it seems to have disappeared. confused

Maybe get her one of the house scarves?

Ooooh! I found this. I'm grabbing one now for DS1.

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 18:25:29

Here's somewhere you can get all the offical sweets

I'm having a great time, can you tell? grin

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 18:27:54

Much nicer looking letter set

PhilPhilConnors Thu 19-May-16 18:29:44

Primary have Harry Potter socks at the moment.

TheKingSits Thu 19-May-16 18:31:50

I just bought my sister Harry Potter socks from primark, it's a pack of four with one for each house. They are £3.

Also got a Harry Potter adult colouring book for a friend last Christmas from Waterstones.

I spent a fortune on stuff for DH at the official shop in the WB studio near Watford but he doesn't wear any of it and didn't even eat the chocolate wand angry Hopefully you sister is a more grateful recipient! grin

thatsthewayitgoes Thu 19-May-16 18:31:58

Xmas???? It's May!!!

Aquiver Thu 19-May-16 18:34:05

Tickets to the new theatre show or to the HP live experience (if you can travel to north of London) X

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 18:39:40

Some of us festive folk like to get a lead on Christmas, thatsthewayitgoes.

<hums jingle bells>

GrimmauldPlace Thu 19-May-16 18:45:55

DH got me one of those sets for my birthday last year Merry and posted it through the door. I'm a grown woman and mother of two who actually squealed when I opened it grin

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 18:52:08

He's a keeper Fizzy.

I call that true romance.

FeelingSmurfy Thu 19-May-16 18:58:59

The illustrated book
colouring book
Sweets ( chocolate frog, bertie botts jelly beans etc)
Golden snitch bracelet (eBay)

FeelingSmurfy Thu 19-May-16 19:00:38

I have my eye on this at the moment

Chimchar Thu 19-May-16 19:41:10

Dd has a snitch pendant that is actually a watch. It's not official HP merch, but was about £2 from China!

Bertie botts beans from eBay were cheapest I found.

Asda have HP colouring books.

As others have said, Primark do loads of HP stuff...Jamas, tshirts, knickers etc. They are all in the ladies dept. Unsure how old your sister is, but they start at a size 6 which has been fine since my very skinny dd was about 11 years old.

Loving this thread!!

Chimchar Thu 19-May-16 19:43:49

Meant to add, costco do the massive thick factual books with tiny details about the costumes, creatures, film sets etc with beautiful photos and drawings.

They're about £20.

I want one

Chimchar Thu 19-May-16 19:45:53

Also, have a look at the illustrated hard back books by Jim Kay. They're just beautiful!

MistressMerryWeather Thu 19-May-16 19:52:36

DH and I got our selves boys the Philosophers Stone illustrated book for last Christmas, it's breathtakingly beautiful.

We are getting the Chamber of Secrets one this year and I can't wait.

themumfairy Thu 19-May-16 19:57:16

The wand changes the TV!!! Sold to me grin

Thank you fellow Potterheads smile
I want it all.
Ds is 15, last year my brother got her a brown mug and when hot liquid is inside it shows up the mauraders map smile she loves it.
I would love to take her to the Harry Potter studios, I can drive but I've heard it's expensive and I would want everything from the shop confused maybe one day.

themumfairy Thu 19-May-16 19:58:29

Chim I'll look into that. For myself. I love things like that. I love all the behind the scenes extras too.
