Just that really. It's April.

Lemme get this straight

People are posting in the Christmas topic about Christmas and you don't like it?

It's possible to hide whole topics so why not do that and hide Christmas then you'll be able not get all aerated and can return to serenity

Donkey - No, not that they're posting in the Christmas section ( which I have only just now stumbled upon ) - but that people are even THINKING about Christmas. In April!

My mind is boggling on all four cylinders.

Would you rather people posted in chat, or somewhere equally obvious? Nobody forced you to come here! 🌲

It's a good idea to spread the cost of Christmas out throughout the year. I wish I was as organised as some of these posters!

It's a bit rude to start a thread in a topic, just to slag off the topic. Imagine if you went to a book club just to slag off being in a book club!

FWIW some people are here because they bloody love Christmas and see the benefit in saving up for it / putting aside bargains during the course of the year, rather than going broke for it / waiting until November when prices all spike.

You can hide topics if it 'depresses' you that much.

THINKING about Christmas in April

The Countdown started on Boxing Day .
We've been thinking about Christmas since, erm, last Christmas

YY, if you don't like it , block it Xmas Hmm

How rude. Lots of people HAVE to plan Xmas all year round as it's so expensive. Hide the topic.

Not depressing, no. In fact, thinking about Christmas has just cheered me up. Thanks for popping up in active convos op. Smile

My friend works in a Christmas shop which is open all year round. So, at what point throughout the year will it be ok for her to speak about her working day OP?

Don't read them then!

You have gone into a Christmas topic to complain about people talking about Christmas!

My DD has a December birthday so I pick up bits through the year to spread the cost a bit, I got her play kitchen for her Christmas a couple of years ago in the January sales for peanuts, not sure why that's depressing.

I can't stand all that sporner stuff so I just don't open the threads, hth.

I had no idea there was a Christmas thread!!!! This has made my day :)

If the OP the grinch had not posted in this most marvellous of threads I would have never known!!! I like to make things for my Christmas so always start early! This year I'm making homemade quilts, that take hours to make :) April is a bit early for me, but who cares if it's not hurting anyone just walk away! I will likely be back in July :) but any resist looking at all the "depressing" threads Hmm

I see the OP has gone quite or maybe they have learnt how to block threads... Ho Ho Ho

So people are looking forward to a festive family time? Shock

Op, I suggest you avoid the vast majority of relationships threads, if those about Christmas affect your mental state so acutely.

Hmm

How very dare people spread the cost of Christmas! How dare they plan holidays at Christmas which need to be planned months in advance! How dare they chat on the internet about something they enjoy! We should alert the village elders immediately.

Well I wish it could be Christmas everyday,
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
I wish it could be Christmas everyday
So let the bells ring out for Christmas

When my train pulled into Canary Wharf this am the driver announced 'I know it's early on a Monday morning, but I just wanted to let you all know there are only 243 shopping days left til Christmas!' It made me smile before joining the hoards stamping into the office

Oh fuck me what have I done. GrinI have every sympathy with people on a budget. But I suppose my point is why the fuck is it felt necessary to spend so much in the first place that you start budgeting in April for one over promoted, ghastly angst filled day in December?

I won't start planning or Christmas for another 6 or 7 months, but it really isn't a ghastly, angst-filled day for many! 🎄☀️🍾
