...seeing as there's always a 'when do you put them up' thread Xmas Grin

I'll be taking mine down on twelfth night not that I will want to They've been up since the last Friday in November, the 27th I think. Over a month. The house will look so rubbish without them Xmas Sad My DM used to take everything down on Boxing Day - she'd get up at 6am and do it while we were all asleep, and we'd wake up to a bare house. That might be why I like to keep mine up for so long!

Twelfth Night.

(Or the last time before that which fits with the kerbside recycling for the tree, which probably means evening of 5 Jan).

I'm going to take mine down today. I'm on a night shift on 12th Night and travelling the day after so can't so it then. Plus my house is a cluttered tip and I'm sick of picking up the baubles that my 1 year old pulls off the tree.

Day after boxing day.
We live in a very small flat and we have to remove furniture to get the tree in.

2nd Jan generally. I don't do any cleaning on new years day and pretty much just fling the hoover round and squoosh pledge about from when the tree goes up so by the 2nd I feel like my lounge is in need of a good clean!

2nd or 3rd of Jan. That way it's all done before we're all back at work/school on the Monday.

New Years Day
The lights will all be on for New years Eve then I like to have it all tidied for the New Year.
In my mind, Christmas is cosy, red, gold, green, lights, soft furnishings and baubles.
New Year is silver and white, starker .

What tree?

Every time we put up a tree a cat (or cats) used to mount expeditions to scale it.

My husband put fairy lights round the large mirror and the giant money plant.

Poor plant was rescued from it's fate yesterday. The lights on the mirror will come down when they fail, they are quite pretty.

I took down my Santa related decs around the house but the tree will stay up until the 3rd Jan.
It's DS birthday the following weekend so i need to be concentrating on his party/cake during the first week back .

12th night here too. But the tree goes up late (Christmas Eve this year, always fairly close to Christmas) so the decorations are still a joy and I'm happy to keep them up until then.

They came down today. They usually go up the weekend before Christmas (although they went up a week early this yeah because we were away) and I've had quite enough of them in my tiny house by now!

Used to be 12th night, then day before back to work now on 30th as one family member has 31st birthday so want to make a difference between Xmas and their birthday.

Ours came down today. Don't like it hanging around when Christmas day and Boxing day are done, and we were away yesterday so couldn't do it until today.
