Light sabre for toddler

So as is standard with a toddler (just turned three), we have a load of How to train your dragon pressies for his xmas gifts, as he requested - and this morning he announces he wants a light sabre just like his cousin (who is 13). One with buttons and lights. He has NO idea what star wars is, has never seen it, we're not that into it - but because of his cousin if he hears 'star wars' he knows its the thing with the light sabres.

So - i would quite like to get him his own - but i don't want an all singing all dancing expensive one. just a toddler one, preferably with a couple of buttons....anyone got any recommendations where to get one?!

Get a bubble wand. They're a couple of quid and when he's bored of it being a light sabre he can play with the bubbles.

Our local toy shop has a cheap knock off lightsaber that has lights and buttons etc but its not branded. Its a fiver. they also have them at local garden centre.

Tesco have soft foam lightsaber study light up! I've got one each for DS2 and DN who are both two as they're mad about DS1's lightsabers! (Also they're foam so no one will accidentally lose an eye... I hope!)

I got one on Amazon for my 3 year old, only one button but the light changed colour and flashes fast or slow depending on how many times you press the button. It was about £7 and delivered the next day with prime. It doesn't hurt when you get whacked with it either (my 1 yr old got me good across the head yesterday when we were playing pirates!)

lol thanks - i will take a look at the tesco foam ones!
I don't want to spend much then have it cast aside by boxing day, or have him obsessed with it an whacking other three year olds so i'll take a look!

I made some for my lo, just like this. All you need is a pool noodle and electrical tape, one pool noodle makes two so we have 6 that are played with every single day! Cost less than 8 for all of them x
