I always make sure I have extra cat/dog food in as the feed stores have reduced opening hours.
Also enough logs and coal to keep us toasty.

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 10:49:19

I have both of those sorted too.

Dishwasher tablets (if you have a dishwasher).

<runs off to check>

Almost a full box (phew)

I'm so disorganised normally and end up in a panic on the 23rd and 24th. Wanted things to be organised this year.

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 12:16:19

Need to check batteries, thank you for that one.

You did remember to order Christmas Loo Roll didn't cha? ........................................fwink

Wiping your festive bottom on Andrex Puppies just won't do at this time of year!

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 15:56:56

No Christmas loo roll and no puppies but bought quilted as we have guests from Sat onwards.

We can go back to cheaper ones after Christmas grin

Ilovetorrentialrain Wed 16-Dec-15 16:02:48

Need any batteries? (By the way I'm intrigued, what's a Christmas Eve box?).

MrsPear Wed 16-Dec-15 16:12:07

Bloody batteries I knew I forgot something!

Thank you op

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 16:22:11

Christmas eve box was something I did stupidly last year but the DC loved it so I have done it again.

Each DC has a new pair of PJs, thick socks, hot chocolate each, Christmas book each, one Christmas DVD (to watch as a family) and a few bags of popcorn and sweets to eat while watching the film.

And I say stupidly as its all stuff I would normally put in their stockings.

70isaLimitNotaTarget Wed 16-Dec-15 17:48:03

My DC are teenagers (16yo DS and 13.6yo DD)
We still do the CEH but no stockings now.

The stockings were originally given to buy DH and I another couple hours of sleep. Now they're lazy teens, we're awake well before they get out of bed (they're awake but lay about with iPods)

Teens presents are tiny and £££ so any exta little gifts make the present pile look better fgrin

CEH is PJs, dressing gown, Lush smellies, sweets, chocolate.

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 17:57:32

My DTeens still get stockings 😄

Plastic takeaway tubs! Bloody godsend for storing leftovers.

Ilovetorrentialrain Wed 16-Dec-15 22:19:42

OP that sounds lovely!

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 22:50:41

Plastic take away tubs are a good idea but to put the instructions and warranties from gifts in.

We don't end up with leftovers.

dodobookends Wed 16-Dec-15 22:58:30

Check your local council refuse collection - they usually change bin day and you don't want to end up missing it

Mylittlelights Wed 16-Dec-15 23:06:49

Good idea, checking now.
