I've just wrapped DCs stocking presents and I still have a bit of space to fill.

Can you inspire me with stocking filler gifts/must haves?

How old?

MrsGannicus Sat 12-Dec-15 20:28:41

Only little, 4 year old DS and 2.5 year old DD (who thinks she is 4).

I've bought stationary for my two but they're slightly older.

When they were that age I put in joke presents like whoppie cushions and farming whistles.

Magic face cloths - the ones that expand when you wet them - supermarkets do them. Bath bombs, toothbrush with favourite character on, notepad/mini colouring in book, Playmobil/similar figure in those foil bag things - you can sometimes pick them up for £1 if they're an old series, a packet of raisins, crayons, bath squirty toy, whoopee cushion.

grin can you tell I love doing stockings

Wilkos have some fun traditional ones - Jacobs ladders, rainsticks, kaleidoscopes. Sainsbury's do HotWheels cars for a couple of quid too.

Maybe a bit too big (or expensive?) for a stocking but how about those Stompeez slippers that move when you walk? Argos have them for £5.99.

Wilkos do some cute novelty stationary items from 35p-£1 each - things like penguin rubbers, mouse pens, shark pencil sharpeners, heart shaped post-it's, etc etc. dd has adored this range since she was about 2.
Other ideas: plasticine; sheets of stickers; those mini craft sits you can get for about £1 in supermarkets, Wilkos etc.

Oh yeah I've got minion magic flannels this year for stockings.

Yoyos don't work in my house, lighbulbs get smashed grin

Sainsburys do these really cute ink stamps with the animal that the stamp picture is as the holder.

Happyland figures, toy cars (or trains if you have a wooden train set), mini cuddly (beanie boos are much loved here). Yes to magic flannel too!
Small books
Cheap DVD (there's loads for £3 on Amazon)

I'll list what my DCs are getting in theirs in case it helps anyone (note - we choose stocking fillers by size rather than value so some are ££)

DD (8)
Gemstone box
Sleeping Queens game
Monster High socks
Gym leotard for her doll
Monster High Top Trumps
Astronaut handbook
3x puzzle books (was a set of 6)
Mini pattern colouring book
Chocolate penguins
Small lego set

DS (6)

Super Tooth game
Avengers socks
Ash (from Pokemon) hat
Transformers Top Trumps
Pharaoh handbook
3x puzzle books (the rest of the set)
Mini pattern colouring book
Chocolate penguins
Small lego set

Wouldn't surprise me if I added something else though (probably a cuddly)
