Star/angel/fairy or what for tree topper?

We haven't got a tree topper. Xmas Shock I just can't decide. I haven't seen anything I love enough yet. Had a fairy growing up, but I'm not sure if a star is better? Or a top hat!
What do you have, and why?
And any links to some ideas for me please.

Always a star, we have several and choose a different one each year.

Sorry, didn't say why. I just prefer them to angels.

There has been a thread about this already. I have a light up star from tesco

Angel in my house

This one because I have a small tree and the star I had with my other decorations was too heavy and bent the branch over. £1.50 bargain.

We always had a star when I was a child, and I started off with a star at the top of my tree when I left my parental home.

Then one year the star broke and I couldn't be bothered to go out and buy another one, so I tied a cuddly toy bat from IKEA to the top of the tree instead. It looked a bit like an angel in my eyes, I mean, it has wings, so it's like an angel, right? So then that became our tradition. Every year, we put the bat at the top of our tree. :)

STAR

Report

And why is because that's the only way Grin

The star is the highest in the sky, it led everybody to the baby.
Angels are lower in stratosphere than stars.
Fairies have no place on a tree. It's just weird

We have a troll, but I really like the idea of a bat!

Always a bird. Cos it's a tree.
This year it's a Robin. I'm a bit pagan at Christmas so not keen on stars or Angels.

Bob the Minion which is actually an improvement on previous years Grin

I have a penguin. My tree is white,so it looks pretty good.

A fairy with a dress that looks like a snowflake. Not sure why, just liked her tiny face and sparkly wings. We have a few fairy tale themed tree ornaments so she seemed to fit.

I'd like a star though. Haven't been able to find one that's just right.

I have a kinda star-ish thing but to me it's a sun, it was originally from a fancily-wrapped gift I think. I really want a 'proper' sun thing to go at the top of the tree (also a 'bit pagan'!) but never found anything suitable.
I like the idea of something individual to you though. Perhaps a dog in wooly jumper/scarf Smile

Not a real one, a toy/model...!

A knitted (by me) Santa hat. DS (4 on 27th) loves it.

A star. It leads the way to Bethlehem says the atheist. Angel is because kids make them. No other reason. Fairy? WTF? Troll, bat or Minion? I approve.

We have a snowflake. Didn't fancy anything religious but not that fussed. Dd fouod a gold sparkly snowflake so I let her buy it.

The girls always decide who sits on top of the tree. This year stitch and scooby doo are sharing that honour. Last year it was sonic the hedgehog.

Started when dd1 was 2 and whilst decorating our first tree the cheap topper broke so we let her chose a teddy :)

I might wait til the kids are up for making something then! And update yearly rather than trying to buy an heirloom piece. Just can't decide, nor find something I love.

What's wtf about a fairy? Confused It just looks like smaller winged Angel.

I'm more defensive about our fairy tree topper than I'd realised having never had to defend it before. Grin

It was bought during a very hard time whilst grieving for a pregnancy loss so is a symbol of hope I suppose. It was a daft cheerful thing in amongst a lot of shit.

Ours is a star. We used to have a fairy but she never would sit straight so we swapped her for a star.
