I'm looking for a gift for a friend's DS (7), who's very keen on lego. I'm looking to spend about £20, but I have no idea whatsoever what to get, and it all seems much more complicated than when I was young.

Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Is he into a particular range? Ask your ds. My nephew likes ninjago, think that's what if is.

Sorry, thought its was your ds's friend.

Ninjago rings a bell - but then I'm worried I'll get a duplicate. Arrrgh!

(If I ask my friend, she'll say that I mustn't bother, but I'm keen to get him something as they've had a bit of a tough year all round.)

Lego deep sea submarine. £20 at Argos.
New sets so he's less likely to have already.

ds1 who is 6 likes ninjago too - they keep bringing new sets out so if you bought one the latest ones chances are he probably wouldn't have it. Obviously if you buy it from somewhere that will give you a gift receipt then you're covered if he does have it.

Anything from the Jurassic world range. Dinosaurs and Lego what's not to love?!

Perfect, thank you! I'll pop out and get that tomorrow.

There is a really good space shuttle (cost about £17 ish I think) in the Space range. I like the Creator animal sets too - rainforest animals is amazing (abou £14 iirc)

The Creator Future Flyers, or Turbo Quad, Roaring Power, Yellow Racers are all excellent and £20 or under.

If we go on like this I might end up buying myself some Lego!

Nothing wrong with that - I think my Lego collection is almost as big as the dc's haul grin

Honestly, have a browse on the Lego site (and then buy elsewhere, as usually Amazon/Argos/toys r us are cheaper), there are loads of brilliant sets.
