Where to buy all the needed Christmas decorations?

We've just moved and for the first time have space to a tree but we don't have any decorations.

Any advice about where to buy Christmas lights, baubles, tinsel etc that isn't too expensive? We considered going to ikea since that's where we bought everything else but it's miles away. Everything on the high street just seems so expensive.

Where does everyone buy their starter decorations? We would hope to replace with nicer ones year on year but for now cheap, cheerful and pretty works!

We got some nice ones from Wilkos last year and i made some felt ones. We let the girls pick a new one each year to add (they are only 3 so not too many extras so far haha).

My friend got some lovely stuff from Wilkos. B&Q and Homebase might also be worth a look, especially for lights.

What style decs do you prefer?

I just found lots in Wilco, varying prices, so good for the extravagant or those on a tight budget.
Pound shops, Home Bargain, B&M, Morrisons, Asda, Tesco.

You really can't move for them atm.

Wilkinsons have great decorations, they have a more 'natural' look and also a glitzy section. Their range of lights is brilliant. M&S have great tree decs which are 3 for 2 at the moment and Sainsburys have some really good bits in this year too. If your going to spend a bit extra on a couple of special tree decs NOTHS and Paperchase are good.

We have a homebase near by and they didn't have much except for a sad looking lights which why we thought of ikea. I'll try again this weekend and I'll have to look for decorations when I make the trip to our big sainsburys.

We don't live near big stores so I think I must have missed all decorations available. I'll try and find the closest Wilkos and Home Bargains since those sound good.

Poundland have lots of perfectly good decorations. After all, one red bauble is much like any other.

Home Bargains and The Range get my vote... just spend the morning in The Range and decided on a wintery snowy theme for the mantel with straw fox, squirrel and hedgehog... cant wait til Tuesday!!!
