Apologies if there's a similar thread and please point me at it if so!

Just looking out for some more ideas, really. DD already has some Lego and loads of Schleich horsey stuff, plus she'll get some riding stuff as well. DS has got various Lego Ninjgo sets and the dinosaur 'Blue' from jurassic World.

These are great! Loads more ideas - thank you. I'd completely forgotten about the 3D pens - both DCs have requested them. I also forgot about Doctor Who...they both love it...

We can't get Lego dimensions sadas our Wii is the older one and not compatible.

What's a Tsum Tsum?! confused

Stuck for my 10yr old DD so eagerly watching here.. she's only asked for a laptop shock (anyone elses asked for the same? are you getting one?)already some good ideas!

which 3d pens is everyone getting please - heard v mixed things on them and dont know what im really looking for?

also wrigglesrock where did you find a large tsum tsum please?

looking into a Mip robot as never even heard of one but sounds tempting...

SheSellsSanctuary Wed 11-Nov-15 08:32:07

My DD would absolutely love her own laptop but I've said she can have one when she starts senior school next year (mean mother).

DS would love a DS - more than anything - but we just can't do it As we know he'd be wanting to play it All. The. Time. It's bad enough with minecraft on my laptop...

I'd also love a recommendation for the best 3D pens...

Doughnutsandflapjacks33 Wed 11-Nov-15 12:18:09

I have bought Dd a laptop but she did need one, she's just started high school and we don't have anything running on Windows in the house for her to do her school work on so it was a case of needing rather than wanting, I will be using it too so it's kind of a joint present. I bought a really good reconditioned one for £150.

If you do look at Dr Who toys, the 5'' figures/tardis are much better than the smaller ones. And the first ever proper Dr Who Lego set is out next month.

Last year I got ds who was 7 a sonic screwdriver and he loved it, along with his lightsabre!

This year he is getting a 3ds from Santa and his stocking. We go halves with his dad for all of that. He wants a big speaker but am getting him a bluetooth/usb/cd player system for his birthday so no.
He also has...
A saltrock hoodie that he desperately wanted.
Tom Gates books.
Dr Who encyclopedia (from his brother who ripped last years! )
A couple of dvds.
Now 91 (92 coming also from my sister)
Bow and arrow (nerf type but not nerf lol)

His dad is also getting him a skateboard deck and then he can choose how to customise it and choose his own wheels etc.

I need to think of a couple more items. I was really stuck this year but think he has a good haul coming so far.

Good stuff, Chimpy! My DS loves Tom Gates too smile

Anyone know of the best 3D pens?? There seems to be so many…maybe I'll go by the Amazon reviews...

Just reviving this thread to see if anyone else has anything they've bought for similar aged children which they wouldn't mind sharing! smile
I've added some Yoda pj's, a periscope, a Dr Who book and some Schleich dinosaurs (so expensive shock) to DS(8)'s haul.
DD(10) also has various earrings, a lovely book about horses, a riding hoodie (born to ride) and some Lush bath bombs.

girlsyearapart Sun 29-Nov-15 08:11:50

The ELC sale had lots of Schleich animals not sure if dinosaurs were included though

SheSellsSanctuary Sun 29-Nov-15 08:40:57

Ah thanks bought now so I dare not look!

Just looked at Christmas twitching thread and added, all at bargain prices:
Dr Who annual
Amazing World of Gumball book
Pony Maloney pencil case
Two 'mooshrooms ' (minecraft)
Cuddly piglet
Cuddly black pony

SummerNights1986 Sun 29-Nov-15 09:12:46

Ds1 is nearly 8 and off the top of my head he has:

A 3ds XL (bargain at £99, including one game) from Smyths
A pair of Heely's
Minecraft Lego
An arsenal football kit
A 'learn to play the Ukulele' instruction kit (he has a Ukulele from school)
Board games - Cluedo, goldenballs, deal or no deal, pictureka.
Headphones for his tablet

G1veMeStrength Sun 29-Nov-15 09:16:27

Mine around that age are having football boots, football ps4 game, football calendar, camera, hexbug stuff, Harry potter stuff, and books.

SheSellsSanctuary Sun 29-Nov-15 09:31:02

G1ve what Harry Potter stuff did you get? Mine got loads last year, following a visit to the studios, but I am always looking for more!

MeMyElfandI Sun 29-Nov-15 09:37:36

DD 11 is getting

3D pen (GooDee one of Amazon has good reviews)
Instatwist hair braider
Fancy art kit from Argos
Arts and craft goodies
Sale stuff from Hollister and A&F kids
Lush and Zoella smellies

SheSellsSanctuary Sun 29-Nov-15 11:19:42

Me, where did you buy the Instatwist?
Thanks for the info about the GooDee pen!

MeMyElfandI Sun 29-Nov-15 15:07:53

Sorry been out doing some shopping in real shops, note to self, stick to the Internet.

Got the Instatwist from Argos a while back when they had a deal and with a £10 voucher. Probably worth looking around to see if any Black Friday deals on it.

Another Mumsnetter tried the GooDee 3D pen at a trade fair and thought it would be a good buy for 11 year old. Amazon reviews seemed good for it as well. Also I ordered some extra ink from Rigid.Ink as well.

SheSellsSanctuary Sun 29-Nov-15 17:48:32

Thanks for the info!
I've decided not to go for the 3D pen - maybe for a birthday next year. I think I'm done now - just need some slightly dangly earrings for DD and I've ordered the Nerf Modulus for DS.
Thanks everyone for sharing!

G1veMeStrength Sun 29-Nov-15 22:35:55

Hi SheSells, the Harry Potter stuff won't be anything like the gift shop - my game plan is to get them cheap versions of everything BEFORE we go to the Studios and nothing is ever impressive again!!!!

Anyway - stationery, mug, quidditch hoody so far. Thought about the lovely new book as it's half price on amazon but I saw it irl and it's too big for the bookcase I was thinking it would live on. We already have a paperback of each book so would be having stuff for the sake of it really.

SheSellsSanctuary Mon 30-Nov-15 08:42:47

Have a look at 'Harry Potter Page to Screen' - it's quite simply the best book EVER if you like love HP. I found it half price last year (think it's £40 full price).

G1veMeStrength Mon 30-Nov-15 10:40:56

Oooh thanks that is gorgeous! We haven't finished the final book yet so I will watch and wait to get a good price on it then give it to them after we've seen the last film.
