Budge up on the bench! 12 hour shift Christmas day here. Fair chance I won't see my DS at all, luckily he's too young to 'get' it all this year.

Cheers! Wine

We're having nice food and presents on xmas eve, just me, DH and DS, and then DH is working boxing day but I'm doing a dinner for the rest of the family. It's going to be busy!

I cant wait. Triple time and it should be pretty quiet! Ill be working 9pm-3am on Xmas day, Boxing day and New Years Day.
I imagine ill be feeling a lot more more grim about it if I had children, hence why I volunteered to work it.

I swear its nothing to do with the extra money because ive got my eyes on a new handbag

Goodness - what do you all do? It can be easy to forget those who have to work

I am so happy I don't work Christma or weekends any more!
I rolled off that bench without any regrets even though I lost some income.

Mental health nurse here. Christmas day is usually fairly chilled, although there's always a chance of things kicking off (specialist service, high risk of violence).

Our plan is to do a proper dinner so everyone is too stuffed to fight and just falls asleep.

Flowers to you all that work on Christmas Day! It really isn't fair when you have DCs.

I'm a nurse too and dont know yet. If I have to it will be a shame, but it is sort of my turn so I won't moan. I am going to offer to do New year nights pre emptively for brownie points though ;)

See, I do think that just because I decided to breed doesn't mean I should get every xmas off Grin Everyone has family's they want to be with (mostly). But yeah, that's when I'm feeling particularly rational; ask me again if it's fair christmas morning!

Ok, maybe I should have included 'young' DCs. Blush

We're going to let the dc's open their 'big' presents on Christmas eve instead Smile

I did it for years as a mental health nurse and then a residential childcare worker.
Thrilled at not having to do that anymore but then go and marry someone who has to!
So I'm on the bench by proxy!!
