Anyone getting a beauty calendar?

Really tempted by the idea of a beauty calendar as a treat to myself this year. Torn between boots, m&s and l'occitane... but am I just getting over excited about shiny things? Has anyone else got one before and was it worth it?

Ive bought the Body Shop £60 one for DD Blush. First time I've bought one and I'm so excited. It looks really good and the contents are worth somewhat more (trying to justify the expense!)

I'm trying to use "the contents are worth more" as justification too - the m&s one is worth over £200! But I don't want to be disappointed. The idea of a little present every day is just so exciting!! Ahem.

I got the Boots No7 one last year (£35) and no, it wasn't TBH.

If you have nothing in the way of make-up, then the single shadows (very neutral colours) the eyeliners and the small mascaras are a good starting point (I gave them to my DD but she already has her own make-up collection)
I ended up putting them into a Charity shop (they were unused)

I liked the skincare but I'd get better value from one of their skincare sets.
Couple of brushes which are handy.
And 2 of the sections were empty Angry. I waited till it was finished then completely dismantled it to see if they'd gone down the back, they hadn't.
(One of the empties was the daycream)

Benefit looked good in the past but they had a few non-beauty things (hairgrips, necklaces, bracelets) that I wouldn't have chosen. And I can buy the trial sizes in Boots anyway.
IIRC Benefits has only 12 sections this year.

I like the look of the Bodyshop one but would only use 60%.

This year, I'm doing little gift bags for DD (stocking up on 3for2 makeup) - nail polish, eyepencils type make-up, hairbands, sachets of facepack.

(DS can have money in his Advent, he's 16)

I am planning on getting the no 7 one, I like having the miniatures for travel/hospital purpose and it's mainly stuff I use anyway

Interesting points about the boots one. Did you complain about the missing bits? I have quite a bit of boots stuff already, which is why I think i'm leaning towards one of the other two. I don't buy much high end stuff so thought it would be nice treats that I couldn't normally justify!

on beauty blogs it says that the M&S one is going to be £25 if you spend £25 in store (no idea how much if you don't, that part isn't mentioned!) but November seems quite late for it to come out..?

I've had the Youbeauty one the past 2 years, it wasn't as good last year as the year before so I'm not sure whether to bother this year.

I've got the benefit one for dd. it's £35 and it has 12 doors and plays a tune Grin I'm quite excited about giving it to her.

Thank you Candy I will check them out! Do you remember when ish? I saw the youbeauty one but it's more money than I can justify! The contents are listed on the website, but it's beyond my budget.

I'd love the Liberty one, but can't really justify the expense.

God, I would love the Liberty one too. I'm going there after half term so I can at least touch it!
