My brother in law never smiles or says thank you for his gifts and usually "forgets" to take them home.
I have given up getting him nice presents or spending decent money on him.
Last year I got him novelty santa stuff and silly socks.
I like to plan early and know I have ticked him off my list.
Any ideas? The dafter the better ;)

Some nice food that your family likes too so that if he leaves it behind it will be appreciated! Chocolate, cheese, wine, etc.

Or ask him what he wants?

Or-best novelty (or naff-off) present ever: a Ped-egg.

A ped egg! Love it.

Yes a naff off present is the order of the day.

If i asked him he would just be awkward and not helpful in the slightest.

He was once given mouldy cheese (not by me) because the giver didnt keep it in the fridge and it got all warm and sweaty under the tree. It was in a pot so it didnt smell until it was opened.

I went to a chilli festival on Sunday and bought this for my brother as a fun gift. You need to enlarge the photo to see what it's called.

I like the silly bathroom fragrances called 'no shit Sherlock' and such. £10 from not on the high street.
Raised a smile when given to my awkward brother and have seen it in the loo since.

as he leaves it behind, get him something you can use.

No shit sherlock bathroom spray would be appropriate because his er... aromatic bottom burps are legendary

I know it's not in the spirit of Christmas, but does he buy you a gift?

My sister does. We spent about 40 quid on each other and a smaller gift for our spouses. My DH gets a small gift from her. My DH is a lot more polite and appreciative though!

A book that you want to read when he finishes it / leaves it behind? Ditto DVD.

Laugh / throw up in mouth at the Ped Egg. Brilliant!

That's brilliant Smile So happy to help. Hmmm, £3 left ... that could get you some pretty decent tat!
Last year, b&m had novelty loo roll. You could go for a toilet based theme Grin

Rosie you are inspired. And a whoopie cushion and maybe a fart whistle.
Job done.
