Christmas is ruined, waitrose have substituted my Florentines with flapjacks!

Ok, maybe christmas isn't ruined but I feel like crying, I rarely buy Florentines as they are so expensive ( fudges Florentines ) but as it is christmas I thought I would treat myself by doing my online shop at waitrose and buy myself some Florentines. My order has just arrived ( 2.5 hours late ) and they have substituted them for flapjacks , the flapjacks do taste great but they are not Florentines .

I ordered cranberry sauce from asda

I got cranberry juice

Plus 11 other subs including 3 bags of potatoes( I ordered 1) 24 eggs (I ordered 15) Cajun seasoning instead of chicken seasoning, and a salted caramel cake instead of a red velvet cake.
Oh and the biggest jar of honey I have ever seen

I had 11 sub's, dh's sour cream Pringles were subbed for salt and vinegar ( he is upset ), a roulade was swapped for a cheese cake and my potatoes were subbed for 2 bigger bags ( so I have twice as many potatoes ).

This isn't a serious thread by the way though it's true about the Florentines and I am slightly I know there are people a lot worse off than me who won't be getting a piece of flapjack let alone a Florentine. I shall go out after Christmas and buy a box.

After reading all the threads on here tonight I was prepared for some substitutions, I was quite excited to see what goodies would arrive, I said to dh ' it will be fine, as long as I get potatoes, sprouts and Florentines ' , serves me right for getting so excited about them.

I order Ocado twice a week, and rarely get substitution, but today had three.

Brie instead of Stilton (and there was already a different Brie in the order. Waitrose gherkins rather than those Swedish pickled cucumber slices, and Parmesan cheese, instead of Manchego cheese.

Luckily, all things we can do without. So, Christmas may not have to be cancelled.

Did you get a box of chocs as a present? My worst substitution from Waitrose this year was lo-cal Feverfew tonic instead of the real version - and the delivery arrived 10 minutes early.

... you should have ticked the no substitutions box next to the Florentines and added a note for the picker that he better find some ruddy Florentines or else your xmas will be ruined and he will have to live with the guilt forevermore.

No substitutions in my Ocado order, and they arrived 6 mins early.

But you're right, OP, flapjacks are not the same as Florentines at all!

ASDA substituted my large lump of gammon for a very small lump of beef.

Not terribly helpful. But they did bring the gin.

The only thing that was missing from my sainsbury's order was the smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis my mum had requested for breakfast. They had been replaced with prawn toast stars. Didn't think she'd fancy them at 10am so sent them back.

I havn't got Aldi near by so my chances of finding any are pretty slim . I bet no one has bought me any for Christmas, when people ask me what I want I always ask for ' Florentines', do they buy them for me? 'No' !

Last year I tried to make some and it was a disaster , I'm sure christmas will be fine without them ( tbh, I would rather go without the turkey ).

Loving some of the substitutions people are getting, gammon substituted with beef is just wrong, I wonder who diced what the substitutes are? I'm a bit pissed off about my roulade being subbed for a cheese cake as I had already ordered 1 cheese cake so now I have 2, I don't even like cheese cake ( only bought a small one for dh ) .
