I need to get something tomorrow. He had asked for a bottle of Joop but that's outside my budget (have been waiting to see if we could afford it but we can't). I have no idea now.

Any ideas, around a tenner ish? Xmas Smile

Maybe you could get him some alcohol, the 35cleaning bottles are usually under £10

Grin 35 cleaning bottles.

He quite likes Guinness, wonder if there are any Guinness gift sets with mugs or anything in Sainsbury's or Wilko. He had a massive collection of Toucans at one point (I think that's what the bird's called Confused )

If you cant afford what he wants then i would give him cash in an envelope- so that he can out it towards it. My son insisted on giving a £5 note to my 80 year old Uncle as he said this was his favourite present and he wanted his great uncle to have a really good gift. This caused much jolity (uncle is very well off) but he was really touched. He sent a thank-you card saying he went to the pub and had 2 pints.

Sainsburys have guinness sets reduced but they are a bit of a carp gift.

I would get a case of guinness rather than a gift set.

A selection of Indian spices from the world food aisle of the supermarket. He's getting the Indian cookbook he requested from someone else because DMum forgot she'd suggested it to us & the other people bought it first so we thought we'd get some decent spices to go with it. We've just been debating how best to fit them all in one of the DC's tiny shoeboxes & which cheesy wrapping paper to use. We're well classy here! Wink

A thermal fleece, thermal long sleeved tops. He had a heart attack the other week and is on blood thinners now. He's constantly cold and my mum is about to pass out from the heating being on all the tine!

What's B and M?

My Dad's getting a taste card and a bottle of the wine that he nicked out of our fridge last time he came over with a note from my 3yo DD on it saying "please don't nick Daddy's special water Grandad".

Sorry, more helpfully could you get him a voucher for somewhere that sells Joop (Boots or something), he might be able to get some in the sales then?

No B&M that I can get to without a two bus trip with the 4yo...don't fancy that tomorrow but thank you. I'm going to try Home Bargains and Wilko again in the morning since some places have started reducing things already.

I don't really want to do vouchers, I'd rather that he had thing to open iyswim.
