Fluttebye fairies worth it ?

Dd would like one from Father Christmas she's 3.5, I could get away with a barbie fairy type doll, as she saw that and seemed to like it.

I read some reviews and they don't look good for the flutterbyes, so I thought I would ask on here !

I has the same with dd (8) but ended up getting it half price in Argos the other day. £16 didn't seem too bad

My DD is 4 - I think box says 5+. It has had to be put away as it is a bit terrifying (for her and us!) I think it would be ok in a big hall with no furniture but not in an average room! It seems to fly straight at you and then crashes into anything with lots of noise. Also needs loads of batteries. Can get it to hover over your hand but is temperamental. I would say wait a while (or hopefully it may be off the tv and forgotten about!)

Thank you ! I really think that it will be one of those toys that gets five minutes play and then gets put away, a dolly might get more play ?

I managed to get one for £9.99 for dd2 (4) it was an impulse buy after her mentioning that she wanted one. I have no idea what they do, so Christmas day could be interesting

My 4yo just got one for her birthday and loves it. I wouldn't pay a lot for one though. It will inevitably break.

DD got one for her birthday but it doesn't have a battery (I don't think). Anyway it's a pile of poo as far as I can tell - very hard to work so she has lost interest and is much more interested in her Princess Alexa Barbie (which is a beautiful doll!)

DD had one last Christmas and after a few crashes into the wall and ceiling and its torso breaking off its body. She gave up and never played with it again ! Expensive mistake for us !

Thank you for your replies, I think I will go for a barbie fairy instead. We do t have much money left in the Christmas budget so do t want to waste it on something that won't be played with much

I took the Flutterbye back and swapped for a Barbie fairy

Thanks guys I was very lucky and got a selection of schleich fairys and a flower shelter thingy-me-bob from the local toy shop at half price and then went to tk maxx and they had the barbie fairy there for 12.99.

So plenty of fairy dolls from Father Christmas and us too. I think she will love them
