What to buy 2yr old who LOVES horses

DD has just turned two, her latest thing is horses - shouts "horsey" at everything horse shaped. Can anyone suggest a good horse-based toy please, I cant find anything in ELC that jumps out at me and the Happyland stables are going for silly money on Ebay at the moment as I've left it bit late. Thanks for any ideas.

Melissa and Doug Pasture Pals is a collection of 12 small horses, with a box for them to live in, DD2 (also 2) loves it. Only thing is they are fuzzy and have furry tails and manes so not suitable if she might chew them. Otherwise gorgeous.

Rocking horse?
Real horse/pony? (Not really).

Dd 18mo had a pony from a charity shop . I checked the make and it's strawberry stables and fudge the pony .

Amazon don't currently sell it but it could be found on gumtree maybe ? I saw a couple of links . It looks like a great wee set in full ! I had a look on google to see if I could find it but no luck !

Hope you find something nice Smile

Look at the schleich range they do all animals and horses and a stable I think.

We have a huge collection of schleich animals built up over the years, all kids have loved them and they last.

B & M do a couple of nice horse sets for a very reasonable price.

Sorry I forgot to mention we do have a rocking horse already, its a bit basic and I would love to get her a nicer one but the one we have is a family hand-me-down from MIL and would cause ructions if I got a new one. Dontlaugh I cant believe I didnt think of My Little Pony though - I loved them as a kid! Will also have a look at the Pasture Pals, thanks again.

I know my mum is getting the DC a Schleich farm for Christmas which I hope will have a horse or two in it, but want to see what it comes with before I add any extra horses to it. Plus she will have to share with DS so hoping to get DD her own horsey-based present.

My dd has a hand puppet that is a horse with a rider on it, she loves that, not sure what make it was but it was from hobbycraft.

I thought the My Little Pony would be my favourite - but now I've googled them and my 80's-brain can't get over how weird and spaced out they now look!

A Shetland pony ride!! Would they put a 2 yr old on a Shetland? She's pretty dinky for her age but I love that idea Vijac . All these ideas are ace and toys I had never heard of before. Poor DD is the youngest so she gets a lot of hand-me-downs, she is going to love some of these!! Thanks all Flowers

Does she have a scooter? If so, these are fab: www.hobbyheadz.co.uk/

5madthings · 30/11/2014 22:19

Oh those heads for scooters are great, my dd fancies the unicorn one.

It is hard when they have elder siblings you start to run out of stuff to get. Dd is youngest of five, but the only girl even so it's hard to find new ideas!
