My Dad is a wonderful man but wants for nothing.

I got my stepdad the 'Grandpa Pig' book in the Peppa Pig series. He enjoys reading a book to dd and this is very 'my grandpa is the best grandpa in the world' etc. It's weirdly hard to find stuff with 'Grandpa' on so I was pleased to see it!

Also, last year we got FIL a book from Amazon where he as a grandparent could write answers to specific questions about his life, what things were like when he was a child etc. Once it's finished he can give it to dd when she is old enough, so she always has access to that information about his life.

I got my grandad long sleeved thermal vests and thick socks from M&S, and a sports biography. Exciting right Grin

After years of finding really thoughtful presents which he thanked me politely for, but never looked at again; last year I bought my DF, a cup with photos of our dog on it , which reveal themselves when you put hot liquid in. He has refused to drink out of anything else ever since, and it has its own special place in the kitchen so it doesn't get chipped!

The book for your fil, not the Peppa pig one!

Sounds like 'From me to you'

They're fabulous. They do them for all family members. I bought my dad one for Father's Day one year. He gave it back to me all filled in at Christmas.

He died a couple of years later so it's the most precious thing imaginable. His childhood memories, work, when he met mum, their life together and then as a family as a dad then a grandpa all there in his own words and his handwriting.

priceless

A weather station? There are ones that have sensors outside, and the box thing with information on it inside .

I make my dad a small hamper with some individually wrapped things, like small boxes of chocolates (chocolate Brazils e.g.), a funny photo of the kids posing in front of the tree in Santa hats (which could also be put on a mug or keyring), and an audio book of some bloke droning on about bloke stuff (e.g. Portillo on trains or something).

He claims to be touched. Bless him.

But I am struggling to think of something new this year so would love some ideas.
