I know this is a long shot but I REALLY need help picking golf shoes.... Grab a golfing fella and please help.

Criteria:
they need to be white based rather than black, and need to look trendy. He is 30yo, and a bit of a poser (dp)
Size wise he's usually an 11ish, so would I go half a size up, down, stick with 11?

For looks wise, these look ok

Would prefer a stripe like these

Is 6 spikes good? Is the adizero one better than the adizero? Hmm

The ones.I have ordered.but have tried to cancel are these

I don't really want to spend over £50.... Pleeeeeeeeeeease help!

Hi, IMHO you should return the Dunlop, they are a cheap brand and although the shoes you link to look quite nice there's no poser factor - everyone will know they are from sports direct.

If he usually wears Adidas trainers then get him the same size golf shoe, half a size up if you're not sure or if he wears thick socks.

Do they have to be white? These look like something different which might appeal.

In terms of spikes, it doesn't really matter. There is a benefit in checking his other shoes and getting the same type of fixings on his new shoes as then he will be able to split a new box of spikes across 2 pairs of shoes if he looses one or two, but when they wear out you need to change them all so I wouldn't get hung up about it.

I like Direct Golf and if you happen to be close to a branch they know what they are talking about and will give you advice.

HTH

What brand are his current shoes? Can you afford something similar?

You walk an awful long way when playing golf and the fit of shoes are very important.

His current shoes are absolute crap, had them 10 years so really needs some new ones. He doesn't really wear trainers Hmm more plimsolly ones, but I.definitely get your point about dunlop. I was taken in by the biomimetric bit (obviously no.idea what it means)

Thanks for.your replies!!

Yes I wasn't sure about the blue!

DH likes Nike golf shoes, I find them a bit narrow. Buying shoes is very difficult for someone else, could you get him a voucher for somewhere he could try some on? Might get a better deal in the sales too...

I got DH FootJoys a few years back and as far as I know they are still a good shoe, he still wears them and loves them. I also had the kids names embroidered on them :-) totalled about £120 I think.

Browse the Footjoy website, or Ecco are good. Bit pricy but the best ones around. Sports Direct often have Footjoys on offer.

If he may wear them abroad, go for soft spikes rather than metal ones - most golf courses in sunny places will not let you play with metal spikes

Thing is he tends to have vouchers and then keep them until they expire... I managed to get the new Adidas adizero one ones for £50, so they'll do I expect :) American golf are selling them for £80 so it's got to be a bit of a bargain, right? and I saw a video with Sergio Garcia saying how good they are!

Thank you very much for everyone that answered, now I have to somehow sneakily measure his hand for a tennis racket grip....

I had a look at foot joy stevebrucesnose but if I was spending that sort of money I think I'd prefer him to measure his foot or something so it would definitely fit etc...
But great idea for next year!

Hey guys! I also have a similar problem. I need to find the perfect golf shoes to give to my brother. It’s his birthday in two weeks and I want to give that to him as a gift. His current shoes are already worn out since he has been playing golf a lot for the past two years. All your suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
