I don't know much about tablet technology, but the reviews for the Tesco Hudl 2 are so good with regard to kids that I got two of those for my boys yesterday. £129. But I used Tesco Boost and put clubcard vouchers towards them so got each one for £29. They do several different fun colours too so you could get a different colour for each one. Have a look maybe. Good luck!

I have a hudl and a hudl 2 they are both fab have tons of games now installed including all you mentioned. I prefer the 2 as the parental settings are excellent as you can set play time and duration at which point the tablet goes to sleep. This is perfect for us as ds1 would play forever! We also used clubcard boost so paod 65 for the 2

My five year old finds the Kindle interface easier to use than anything else so we are buying three kindle Fire 6inch tablets (the newest ones) for £79 each. Then our older dd (12 just after Christmas) is getting an iPad as she has been begging for one for about three years and we have refused til now. She does have an iPhone and an iPod touch so I kind of didn't see the point but I have been worn down by the "but everybody else has one" arguments!

We got ds a reconditioned Hudl for his 6th birthday. That was 3 months ago; all good so far and it does everything you've asked for.

I would go for the hudl2 it seems to have great reviews and you can use your club card vouchers towards them. I would be getting my DD and DS the hudl2 only my DM is getting them a mini ipad each so I couldn't really say no esp as they would end up with one in a few years anyway so seems cost effective for now. Mine don't have iPods or iPhones or any other kind of tablet they just use my ipad which is driving me nuts tbh.

My kids have hudls - we've been really pleased with them. They use them for the stuff you've mentioned in your OP and making videos, photo collages.

Hudl 2 is great and has parental controls :) I definitely recommend you go into a Tesco store and try one out :)
