My dd is 5.5yrs old, is she too old for playmobil? She loves small world play and has so much lego I think I could probably build a house and live in it! She has a lot of happy land stuff from when she was much younger which she won't part with.
So just after some ideas really, would it be worth getting her some or just stick to lego? I saw a fairy set that I thought would appeal to her with poorly animals in the forest and another princess set I think with a little boat.
Many thanks

I first got playmobil when I was 3 and played with it pretty much non stop until I was about 13. I was definitely still being bought sets at 10. I may be a special case as I'm now 27 and still can't bring myself to get rid... But I thought it was amazing. I had things like the school and parks and some animals, and it was just endless imaginative opportunities. If your child likes imaginative stuff and making up stories, def worth a shot.

I think playmobil is 4+ really so 5 is definitely not too old. I also had loads as a child, mostly dolls house type furniture (I think there was a Victorian theme at the time) and played with it until at least 10 too.

Ah Hollie I had the Victorian kitchen! With all the little cutlery and drawers and that gorgeous dresser. I always wanted the rest but didn't get it. This has made me want to dig it out again!

My ds is mainly getting Playmobil for Christmas, he was five last month.
He is getting dinosaur sets, the camper van and the swimming pool. We already have the small school and the Summer Fun campsite. His little brother is getting the Noah's Ark. We also have been collecting Playmobil Christmas sets. We have a fantastic take along Christmas house - Santa goes down the chimney. I love it!

Is it this one Loobylou? I think it looks like a lovely set if that is the sort of thing she is in to.

My boys played with their Playmobil until they were 8 or 9. We've got loads in the garage, I'm saving it for the DGC!

Whatever you buy, make sure you erect it before Christmas morning.

Over excited child + eleventy billion Playmobil pieces is not the way you want to start Christmas Day.

I think that is definitely not too old. It's ideal age IMO. And I actually like Playmobil better than Lego in many ways. You can actually play with it, without it all falling apart. Lego is more about the building of it, then quickly breaks up and pieces get lost.
