Tesco Rewards and Nectar Points

I have some Tesco points and rather a lot of Nectar points built up. I notice that Sainsburys have their "double-up" event running from tomorrow, plus there are all the standard offers from Nectar and Tesco points.
I'm just interested to know what other people are planning to spend their points on in the run up to Christmas? Are there any deals that I shouldn't miss??

Also, a specific question: I'm considering getting my mum + partner a travel or home magazine using Tesco points. Has anyone had the Lonely Planet magazine, or have any other recommendations??

I don't even have enough Tesco points for them to send out a voucher. You only need £2 worth I think! But on the bright side I have £190 of Nectar points. But now I feel like I should buy something proper with my points and not just stuff. Whatever the hell 'proper' and 'stuff' are.

I'll wait here and join you on seeing what others are buying.

Ooh thanks for posting-I have £150 of nectar points so is this now worth £300 & can I spend in sains or homebase? Do I need to do anything or where do I find out info & how long is it on for?

Many thanks!

Use nectar points to buy flights or pay towards flights/holidays, I got £240 off our flights to Spain this year. Sorry... Not very xmassy I know...

Just looked at the T&C for the nectar double up and it looks like you can only double up a max of £20 (to get £40) per department.

So that sucks. I want to double up all my points and use them how I want!

Sorry- how do you know what nectar points are worth, please?

o0 that is rubbish, I didn't realise! Christmas tree is a good idea, though. Moonrocket, you need to look on the nectar website as it varies. 500 points are usually £2.50 in sainsburys (from memory). This week you can double up for toys, clothes, booze, etc.

So, so far maybe I'll get the tree, and a magazine sub, a few dvds/cds (if included) and some wine/spirits.

I've been for outdoor fairy lights & £40 worth of taste the difference wine. Haven't ogr toys yet but probably will-you can go back each day & use points. I'll need to sample the wine this eve to check if we should get more tomorrow ;)

I'm using my £70 worth of Nectar points for the Christmas food shop. Unfortunately the double-up doesn't apply to groceries otherwise I'd be cramming the cupboards with chocolate and crisps! So I suppose that's a good thing really Grin

I was tempted by a blue Christmas jumper with a polar bear on it ..........could've got on Double Up. But I gave myself a talking to instead.

I'm going to use mine to buy food and indulge in the odd Twitch Wink

I've got £135 worth and there's a points booster for 5 weeks (spend £90 a week for 5 weeks and get extra Rewards).

I'm feeding family this year so I need to do food lists

I got outdoor Christmas lights and a lot of wine :) May go back tomorrow for more wine! Was thinking about some clothes but not bothered enough to get clothes. They do have some lovely Christmas stuff though & tree is going up this weekend, (earliest ever & at dh's suggestion!)

I swapped some of my nectar points for ebay vouchers as I was buying from there anyway.

I've doubled up 60 pounds worth of Nectar points to 120 pounds which was spent yesterday on clothing in Sainsburys. The only restriction was that you can only spend 40 worth of voucher per transaction, but the cashier just put through 3 separate transactions for me.

Mizu doesn't work on food I'm afraid. The double up ends today I believe.
